Re: Cross Country Trip....
No one thinks like I do anymore (too many reinforcements to convince me otherwise), but I'm not surprised here. I'm suspecting the problem is Localized Acceptance of Zoned Youths.
Still I'd like some closure. Even a "Flip you!" would suffice. LOL at the interesting man comment. Priceless! |

Re: Cross Country Trip....
I'm just hoping he wasn't logging in to get on the emergency contact thread. I'm guessing he made it there okay and is super busy with the new life and hasn't had time to update us yet.

Re: Cross Country Trip....
So now that the suspense has sunk in...... hahaha
sorry guys I really didn't mean to leave you all hanging. I was expecting our internet service to be set up once I got here, but the company (cox) didn't get things worked out. I tried to log on thru my rommies iphone, but couldn't work the site properly. I literally just got service up about thirty minutes ago so..... Day 4 The last long leg thru Texas was not as smooth as the first. Earlier in the day went pretty easy, we were making good time till we stopped at one of the roadside "picnic areas" about 300 miles outside of El Paso. When I pulled in there was only a little honda civic parked and the two ladies beside it seemed like they were having some trouble so I pulled up and offered a hand. Turned out one of their tires had started losing air, so I asked one of them to watch Fred and helped the other with putting on the spare. while I was helping them the girl asked if she could snap a few pictures with my camera, and this is what she got: My three favorite things I asked her to get one with me in it too I left them with a couple gallons of water just in case and hit the road. As fate would have it about 4 hours later I had tire troubles of my own. Somehow I lost the valve stem from my right rear tire and lost air in a hurry. I got the spare put on and after about 5 miles on the road my spare started loosing air too. Karma was not on my side that day. Luckily I had a can of fix a flat, so I filled it with that stuff and limped about 40 miles to the next town I could find. I got both tires repaired (for a hefty 140 bucks......) and got back out. I ended up losing about 2 hours of drive time from the all of that, but it could've been worse I suppose. I made it all the way into New Mexico and called it a day.

Re: Cross Country Trip....
Well shucks. I wanted to hear about you being abducted by illegals and fighting your way back from capture to claim your rightful throne in Narnia or somesuch.
Helping little old ladies across the street is OK though. Good job. |
