Mine came with the 'brand that shall not be mentioned' caps.

On the bright side, that particular brand makes reliable hubcaps, at least. Heheheheh.

My '85 C3500 Sierra Classic. 16x7's with 235/85R16 tires. It should sit with a rake but is hitched to a trailer in this pic:

Loving all the pics! I think the best look for the 70's and 80's trucks is white steelies with full hubcaps.

One ton springs in the back and rearched fronts to make it level.

Tires are 285/75-16

Re: Show Me your Trucks with Steel Wheels and Hubcaps

I'm a big fan of steelies on 3/4 tons. I've been toying with which color to paint mine when I get around to building it. Looking at this thread has been very helpful.
Greenlee's red truck with white wheels is the factory look of my 81. Really like the look.
I like Alex V.'s white truck (I like fridge white vehicles - they hide the dust from my road well) but the white wheels looks too, well, white for my taste. Hmm - may have to rethink that direction.
AntiGov's black wheel version have so much black the hubcaps disappear.
So I guess it will depend on my final color choice. Perhaps something in beige? Ah, decisions - fortunately the steel wheel 3/4 ton is 4 projects out.

Love the steel wheels guys! More more more!

Re: Show Me your Trucks with Steel Wheels and Hubcaps

Here's my new to me truck that I picked up last week! It had different wheels but I had a set of the classic steels and found a set of hub caps to finish the look. I love the old hubcaps!

Re: Show Me your Trucks with Steel Wheels and Hubcaps

Does anyone know what size trim rings fit the stock steel wheels? I am painting my steel wheels and I want to add some trim rings to go along with the dog dishes.

My '87.

I'm looking for a cheap set of '89?-92? hubcaps though. The stainless looking ones with the 10 holes around the edge.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
