Re: How much to sell your truck
There are two types of sellers.......Movers and keepers..lol
When I sell something I typically price it to move according to current market conditions. I am not a real sentimental person and when I buy a car/truck/RV I could care less that your grandpa owned it for 75 years. That dosen't do a single thing for me and basically means you don't want to sell it. It also dosent mean a guy that has a billion hours and 20K in parts owns a 30K truck. Imho you better be talking about a 100% original super clean loaded BBC shortbed to justify anything above 30K in these year trucks. I think a realistic take me home price for my truck would be 15-16K. I would have a hard time turning down a profit and moving onto the next toy.

Re: How much to sell your truck
I get asked that quite often, at least before I moved to Mountain Home, AR. This is mostly a retirement community, so most of the people that would have the spare cash to buy something like my truck are not interested in an airbagged super low custom truck of any kind. An all origional ride? You bet. But that suits me just fine, as if I ever did sell mine now I dont want it to be to someone local. I couldnt stand seeing it all the time, as I am quite attatched to her. Too many hours of my own blood sweat and tears, too many memories with firends, and too many arguments with my wife to let her go now, unless the offer was substantial. As she sits now I would take $30,000, and not a penny less.
Back a few years ago, when I had the truck only 6 or 8 months, I was asked this question at a gas station by someone checking out my truck. I had bought it for $8000and all I had done was added drop spindles and a bolt in notch in the rear, and drove it. I told him I would take $25000 for it, and as serious as he could he asked if I would take $20000. It definately stopped me in my tracks, and told him I would seriously consider it, and that I was going to a car show and if he was serious he could meet me up there and I would find a ride home with a friend. As much as making that kind of profit would have been nice, I sure am happy that man never showed up. I dont think I could replace those memories for that little bit of cash. |

My 55 f-100 went to a buddy for $10,000.
My Jeep went to a buddy for $10,000. My 69 Chevy is not for sale! There are some things that can not be bought. |

Re: How much to sell your truck
It took me a lot of years to find the truck I wanted. Just last Saturday my wife asked me to take her out cruising in the Blazer, and it makes me happy to drive it wherever I go. I can't really put a price on that.
I've had offers, but I'm just not interested in selling. |

Re: How much to sell your truck
Even my rusted out 1967 Chevy Suburban 4x4 I would not let go for anything less than $6,000.
By the time I am finished with her that price will be in the $30k range or more! Just saying.
