Re: The Mantis
That's the idea. Thanks!
After hours of soul-searching, I am starting to like the idea of the truck being lifted. The project was originally going to be lowered, not dragging rockers, but sitting low. A few friends expressed concerns that just about everyone lowers the 67-72 models, and in an effort to avoid the trend I decided to lift it. While the bald 44s aren't very impressive, the end result will be a bit more polished and show worthy. Now all I have to do is fight the nagging urge to build it into a dually. I think I am going to give in to my desire to build custom flares for it and enlarge the radius in the fenders to accomodate the bigger tires and not give it the monster truck vibe (big tires in little fender wells).

Re: The Mantis
Finally gettting back to the Crew Cab. I have a good excuse, if there is one, for no working on it recently. I recently came into two new Chevys! So if working on another Chevy is not a good reason to abandon another, I don't know what is... A friend of mine has an LT1 out of an Impala that he has offered me due to the fact he is moving and has no where to store it, would it be worth the trouble to retrofit? Will it bolt to my TH350? Any idea on base HP vs a stock 350 cid carbed motor? I am sure I will need a new fuel pump, but I don't know what else I will need. Any help would be appreciated.
