Re: Farmers big block
Great Build! How are you running your fuel filler? Did you notch your frame like Lakeroadster? Please post more pictures of your tank install if you don;t mind/

I will be mounting the gas filler neck in the bed. Notching the frame is not necessary. If you look at the rear cross member I turned it upside down it made it easier to mount the straps. |

Forgot to tell you that I will have to modify the gas filler to fit. |

Re: Farmers big block
The color is off a 2007 Honda Pilot (Bold Beige) metallic.
The PPG number is YR545M-4. I used PPG DCU-2002 clear. In the pictures it looks gold but in person the beige comes out. When the sun hits it the metallics realy pop. |

Re: Farmers big block
Update 6/16/2012
I thought it was time to get you guys up to date. Well, after nine months and two paint jobs the truck is back. I'm so ready to get this thing going. Today, I got the bed bolted together and every thing went ok. The next thing is redo the exhaust system. I built the engine about a year ago and forgot that I ported the heads which means the Hedman 1 3/4 tube headers I bought are to small. So, I bought a set of Sanderson long tube. Oh well, I should do a better job on the exhaust this time. As soon as the exhaust system is completed I can get the cab back on and the rest will start falling together. I have to get going the upholstery as the person doing the job wants it in Sept and that will be hear before I know it. Now don't be too judgemental on the Pontiac tail lights until you see the chrome bumper on. Should all tie together well. |

I really like the tailights and the smooth step. I've been thinking of doing the smooth step on mine too. Looks great, can't wait to see it finished up and driving!

Re: Farmers big block
Update 6/30/2012
I had to take another step backwards. The new flexplate was out of round so I replaced it with a SFI alot better. I turned the starter over so the solenoid is facing down alot easier to get to and away from header heat. I had to bend new trans cooler lines because of the starter flip. Today I will start redoing the exhaust because of the header change. If your doing a BB in your 60-66 and need a new set of headers I have a set that I want to sale. |

Re: Farmers big block
update 7/14/2012
Ok I'm back to the point that I was at in March, in that time period I had the truck repainted, I replaced the headers and built the exhaust again, removed the trans to replace the flexplate, had to replace the starter the new starter interfered with the trans coolent lines so I had to bend up new lines. Reinstall the cab... BAM-O hear we are. I guess most projects have a few steps back...I hope I'm done going back and I can push foward. |
