Thanks. I'll be sorry to miss seeing you, too, Kev.

Something I have to do came up at the eleventh hour....

But, next year, I'm DRIVING the 68/71 up.

2012 sounds good, and you count on preferred parking!

I love your bus idea.

Re: A 67-72 Extravaganza

Probably a good time to tell a little story...On myself!

After I stopped doing a number of things in 1981, among the most destructive of which was my desire to drink any bar completely dry, I found that staying away from parties of more than four
or six people was much more to my liking than carrying drunk friends around and then cleaning up my car after they had emptied their stomachs on the back seat.

Hey! I have plenty of friends that like to enjoy a party in one way or another. But after growing to a big boy in the 60's and hitting that "magic" 60'th birthday four years ago,
I've now just found out it's easier (for me) to hang around the BBQ than to sit around the ice chest.

So, when last year's Extravaganza started seeming to be shaping up (on the Forum) to be one of those parties that I shied away from, I asked one of the Honchos "What Gives?"
....Told him I was maybe a little too old and boring to add anything to the group. After all, I was only two months into my (second 67-72) truck build. And all I could do was be a sober observer.

My woman said, "Hey, Magwa. Don't be a fool. It's a good chance to meet a few folks that are into the same stuff you are." (meaning, of course, truck and gearhead stuff).
She capped it with, "Let's GO!"

Then, I was told by privately Rene and Kevin to get in the car, drive up, and just come and have fun.

Little did I know how much I had in common with all these folks. The truck stuff...For sure. But family, friendship, music, food, trucks, more trucks, and then more family and friends.
I'm sure I made friends there that will last longer years than I can count. They welcomed EVERYONE with open arms. Including me and Irene.

I'll be so sorry to miss it this year. But, sadly, some business calls me away that day, as I said.
If you can go, don't miss it. New friends, old friends, family, food, music and trucks. Man, that's life!

Have fun. And raise a Diet Coke to me and Irene. We'll DEFINITELY be there in 2012. *With* the RAT 1968.
