Re: WHAT did you pick up for your truck today
Ok kind of the wrong thread, but since using a '64 LCF cab......I scored a 1997 6.5L turbo diesel, 4L80E trans(2wd), computer, harness, radiator, all accessories and fuel tank for $1000 today, and only 60 miles from home.
The build is using my 1970 C-30 chassis(157'WB), installing the LCF cab and front clip, and the diesel drivetrain. Will start a thread as soon as the build starts |

Re: WHAT did you pick up for your truck today
I picked up a nice aluminum grille for a '64-'66, complete with headlight trim rings.
Didn't really need it but it was too good to pass up. Greg.

Re: WHAT did you pick up for your truck today
Not an original, but THE original firewall pad and cardboard cover for Goldilocks! The PO still had it and called me to see if I wanted it, so I went and picked it up! It's in good shape too, probably good enough to clean up and reuse.

Re: WHAT did you pick up for your truck today
Went to the local Self Serve wrecking yard today and picked up a rear sway bar off an 85 Firebird. It's a 7/8" bar (actually .850) got it, all brackets, bolts etc. for $20.31 as a plus it already had Poly bushings installed on it. Monday I'll be forced to take it to work, steam clean everything, bead blast the bar and all brackets and paint everything. I love getting paid to work on my truck. I also picked up a throttle cable from a 73 Chevy Truck so I can convert to a suspended throttle pedal like Markeb01 did in his build thread. Thank You for Posting & Sharing your build Mark.

Re: WHAT did you pick up for your truck today
Not today but yesterday a friend brought me a Chevelle steering wheel from his 72 SS Chevelle in Dublin ,Ireland .It will go in my 72 shorty fleetside and I will think of Liam every time I see it .I also picked up a 70 truck chassis service manual at the swap meet at our Chevelle show in Nashville.

Re: WHAT did you pick up for your truck today
My wife (God bless her) and I drove about 80 miles to get this combo: A Clifford 6=8 manifold with a 4 barrel Holley carb. bolted to engine but never saw gas, long tube dual headers, HEI distributor and new wires. I got the whole package for $700. I thought this was pretty good

A pair of 15x8 stock steelies with nubs for my 68, with new tires! Now to find a set for the front in 15x6. I have a better chance of winning the lotto!
