Re: copper lines with accuair setup ??

i got a double flare kit from snap on, the straightner, and the bender that does up to 180deg from them as well. My next project will be stainless but this one Im going for the old school look so copper and black look good.

Re: copper lines with accuair setup ??

if you run aluminum with the flex of the truck and the vibration from the road will it be able to flex with the movement, and not cause leaks or would you need to run flexible steel braided lines in places

Re: copper lines with accuair setup ??

It's funny how what is considered "kosher" changes over the years. When I was about to do my lines a few years ago, I read repeatedly not to use aluminum and especially copper on a vehicle due to vibration, etc. I guess those opinions are still out there, but this thread seems to debunking the former view.

it will flex and move if you hardline from the bags, if a show car who cares it wont ever move enough for it to be a problem. if you are driving this truck than run the braided lines from the bag to the hardline...everyone will still see whats pretty and you can still get some really nice braided lines. not worth the chance.

Depends on the connection you have on the braided line... you just need an adapter from the braided to the compression. Example would be JIC, AN, threaded by compression for your hardline.

Re: copper lines with accuair setup ??

Honestly you are just creating another joint for a possible leak. Just use a quality brass pushlock fitting like a Norgren and push an aluminum line into it. It will not leak if you cut the tube nice and square. We here in Texas do this to all the installs, we have a ton of bagged trucks running this way. If you want to install a soft line you can, honestly I can say you are wasting time and money.

Re: copper lines with accuair setup ??

i thought about it but I am just going to go direct to the fittings, and already have some Norgren aero PTC fittings that I switched when I decided to to copper....they have the best reviews that Ive seen. everything breaks eventually or if done incorrectly. Im waiting on some AN fittings and some brackets to arrive to finish it but should look nice and simple yet industrial when all done and painted. Also anyone got any ideas to make a frame insert for the back frame section, like how the trailing arm crossmembers slide between the framerails and bolt up. Im trying to stay away from the fab shop and want this removeable so I dont want to weld them in. Like 4.25 tall 3" deep and length around 8" but can be cut down, the height and depth is what im after. I have someone thats been asked to make these but no word back so I have to start looking elsewhre.....also for you guys using the exo with 2 tanks you can plum them individually with only one pressure sensor just make sure each tank runs to the inlet of the VU4, its able to run two tanks off one sensor....pretty cool thing I found out today.
