69C10 project progress
We did a little more work this weekend, trying to go through all our extra parts and list them here for sale too. We mounted the core support, blasted, painted and installed the headlight buckets, lights and Battery box that was powder coated. LMC sent us the wrong brake lines and had to remove those and order correct ones. Now we will just wait for some more parts, my older son has spent long hours with the mothers on the truck so I put a pic of him at work.

A bit more progress with the boys and the truck
We finished the core support, rad, bumpers reinstalled and put a new front sway bar in this weekend, blasted and painted a few more parts, my youngest started using the sand blast cabinet after some instruction by his older brother, it was very cool, proud of them. We also finished most of the plumbing for the radiator and trans cooler, just waiting for a few more parts and the correc tfront brake lines.

Re: Our new 69C10 project
Thanks for the positive comments, They are helping me as well, learning that the trip is more important than the destination and of course there is the "Dad it looks better chrome!" I dont know where they got that idea. We have a flaming river column on the way too from Frank here on the board. We really enjoy all the information and help and of course following all the builds keeps us going.

progress
Wefinally recieved the right brake lines that run outside the frame away from the headers, installed those and mocked up the exhaust. Here are some pics of the cab, looks like the color is going to be going on next week, we can hardly wait. Thanks Bruce at Vintage Rod Barn! We ordered a Flaming river steering column from Frank AKA Truckman here on the board and Putters finished cluster showed up from UPS, They dropped it and broke the bezel but it was insured and looks to be a minor fix. Here is few pics of the progress.

Re: Our new 69C10 project
Finished the new grill this weekend, man those are hard to put togather my hands look like I was picking up broken glass. my oldest completed the Lokar pedals, sandblasted, paint, drilled and finished all by himself. Too bad he too young to get a job, I think he has a heck of a talent.

Re: Our new 69C10 project
Its a LMC package with the billet insert. But it all came from LMC, only thing I reused is the turn signal lights, my stock grill is actually really nice, two little dings on the outer edge of the passenger side, but since we are doing a complete project, I splurged a bit

Re: Our new 69C10 project
Man I got to say your truck is looking good. I wish mine would have progress like yours. I see you got the grille from LMC without the "chevrolet" letters in it, Those things are crazy expensive to buy. Either way its looking really good.

We use soft abrasive (in this case glass) at low pressure, at a lean feed rate so we minimize heat buildup and impact blast pressure to minimize panel distortion. (Oil canning) I just wanted to say hello and to correct the "soda blasting" statements so there is no misunderstandings for any of you who wish to use the same process. We have videos of different blasting we have done on YouTube. We are EcoSodaBlaster. We also have our mini soda blaster that also does glass and garnet for all you guys who are doing parts in your garage. And it works! Model K50 on our website. I do not get to the forums that often, so if you have any direct questions, you can call or stop by. You guys have some nice looking projects on here. See ya round. |

Paint on the cab :)
Here is a pic of the bottom of the cab, looks like we should see the rest in color very soon then we will haul the chassis in to Vintage Rod barn and set the cab on. Then back to our shop for the wiring and install the new column.
