The horns look the same, but the brackets are fastened at different angles.

Looking back at the picture, the one closest to the radiator will face down.

The other will face towards the radiator, and mounts under the headlight and just to left of it. There will be two holes to mount each one, on e threaded and one is anti-rotation.

After the column went in, I installed the new door gaskets.

The body shop wanted them to fit the doors. They told me I'd probably want to buy new ones because they would get trashed.

I was going to buy the press-on ones from GMCPauls as they got alot of good responses from people that had used them.

But, mine weren't that bad when I cleaned them up. Be patient, glue only as far as you can work, use alot of tape, and, use the 3M black adhesive!



I let them sit overnight till the next afternoon before I took the tape off.

I learned about the dual horn placement by searching this site. There's alot of excellent information here.
I hope my pictures and experience will help and entertain others. That's why I doing it.

After a good clean and polish, I put the grill on. I loosened up the fenders from the radiator support, expecting alot of resistance. It went on very easily!

I hope the bumper goes on as well.

Bumper install was a job. I couldn't get the holes to line up at all. The truck had been hit before, and it musta tweaked things.
After some massaging of brackets, it finally went on. You gotta really look to see a difference from side to side.

I went with the clear lenses. My Chevelle SS's back in the day had clear, and I liked the look.

Got the fenderwells installed after the bumper. They've been powdercoated also.
I expected them to be hard to fit, being original to the truck, and with fenders from another truck, but they went in easy.








It a great feeling seeing things put together.

Got the cowl installed with the trash shields in place. The decision to add them was made after we removed the cowl early in the restoration. The amount of stuff that ends up there is pretty bad.
I'd recommend adding these to everybody. The look isn't something that appears to be an add-on either.

Got the Highliner headliner installed. It fit very well. There are a few threads concerning these. We'll see just how the sound is since the speakers are overhead.

It will give me a place to stash small stuff, too. I never liked always having things just laying on the seat. There's a cover with a compartment that fits in the center, that can also house a stereo.

I used the same SEM Super White paint as the defroster vents. The quality is excellent of their product.

We held it up in place and used it as a template to locate the holes. It isn't heavy, just awkward.
After drilling the holes, I located a spot on the passenger side and drilled a 3/8" hole to run the speaker wires. I didn't want to run them under the lip of the door gaskets.



A thick piece of foam was included which we taped to the top before we installed it.



Thick blocks of foam were included to put behind the the speakers.
The hardest part was locating the visor clips.



Look Ma! No wires!



I chose to use Alpine speakers, not knowing the quality of the the ones provided. I was hoping that the Alpines would have had grill covers with them, but they didn't. I had to use the ones that came with the Highliner.



I like the look, fit and quality of this. I would recommend one to anybody wanting a different option on speaker locations.

Spent alot of time under the dash this weekend. Got the stereo installed. It was much smaller than the opening, so I had a plate made out of stainless steel to fill it up.



Got the gauges put in and started on the FatMat.
I was kinda putting that off until I was done climbing around inside, so not to damage it.





It goes down pretty easily. The roller that was included kinda sucked, though.

The brand is Highliner. I got it used on eBay, but it had never been installed, and came with everything.
They show up there an occasion. LMC sells them also.

Got the rest of the FatMat installed.
At first, I was real careful with getting the lines straight and measuring. Well, after one piece of that, I realized it's not that critical. That took alot of issue out of and it was very easy to put down. I ended up overlapping alot.




I had purchased the firewall insulation, and considered not using it with the FatMat. I gave it a shot, and I'm glad I did. It really made a clean, factory look.
I took liberties with putting it in, like cutting and notching where it wasn't originally. I think it turned out great.



Got the glovebox door installed. The aluminum applique makes it pop. I was fortunate to locate one online some time ago.
The decals went on very easily.

I have installed OEM undash lights, though. Still gotta wire them up.

Finally got a radiator pipe. Got it from board member blap. It's in great shape!
I've already blasted and powdercoated it. Looking forward to installing it.









I'll be searching for the hose lengths. I recently saw a thread asking for that.

Put FatMat inside the doors. This was a pretty easy task. But, the doors were gutted. It would be a PITA if everything were in place.



It got kinda late when I was putting the mechanisms back in the door. Disassembled stuff twice.
Stopped until the next day, and it was much better.



Windows in, mirrors on, locks and handles in place. What a difference!

Looks very nice, same color as my truck, though mine's not two-tone. What are you choosing for inside door panels? I'm kinds stuck myself, can't find ones with the wood-grain.
