Left side of the truck is okay, but the right will need a lot of work. The doors too.
Start slow, just get it running. Do your research while you enjoy driving a vintage vehicle. Make changes after you've had time to drive it in its factory condition. This is the best advice you can get. Theres plenty of time to improve or modify what needs to be done. Talk to others on here and see what works and what doesn't. *****in truck BTW!!

Re: 1960 Chevy Apache

Hey all, I found a set of replacement doors on ebay for a '63 GMC. Will these doors match my '60? They are $100, and local too.

Re: 1960 Chevy Apache

Picked up those two doors I mentioned in a previous post. Turns out my cousin lives a couple of blocks from the seller and picked them up for me. Thanks James! Not to bad for a $100 I think, glass is intact, windows roll up and down, door latches seem to be in good condition. The tailgate was $50, again from James. Thanks again.

I've signed up for some classes over at the local junior college. American River College offers Automotive Collision Technology classes over at the former Mather AFB. I'm looking at ACT 120 Non-Structural Repair (replacement of door skins and quarter panels, metal straightening theory, etc.) this semester. Other courses I plan to take will be ACT 140 Automotive Refinishing (paint and restoration of corrosion protection, etc.) and ACT 131 Automotive Collision Welding (self explanatory).

Although I feel comfortable with mechanical tasks, I have never done any body work. I really think these classes will help me feel more confident in doing the body work my truck really needs.
