What an incredible find. Was there any rust in it? Seems to have been sitting in a desert environment.

Re: The 1960 - 1966 Member Introductions
Hey Guys, after going thru approx. 20 plus years of motorcycle drag racing, to custom sport bikes to building Harleys I have found a new addiction..the 60-66 C-10
I am 41 years old and married to a wonderful woman that understands this new addiction. It started with a 62 bigwindow( thus the name) to now a 66 short/fleet big window. I have found ,which most of you guys already know, Nate Porter to be a great stand up guy with loads of info and in my case the understanding to deal with all my questions regardless of how many I throw at him. And cant wait for my parts to arrive so I can continue working...I havent posted much but enjoy reading all the stories and info you guys share on here. Look forward to sharing my build when I get a lil farther along...... |

I've been beating, banging, cursing, bustin' knuckles and giving blood sacrifices to this Frankenstein 1965 Chevrolet C10 long bed step side since April 2003: more info., photos, & details on my little site about my truck, in my signature line below, if yer interested. A few tech articles are in my 60-66 section I've put together over the years, also linked below. -W update 11/28/2012 : The Woog Interview, here on the forum. Re: The 1960 - 1966 Member Introductions
My name is Shawn. I live in the wet state of Oregon. I am new to the old Chevy trucks. I am used to rigs with big tires. I am in the process of liquidating other toys so I can focus on my new obsession :-D. I just bought a 1966 Chevy C20 Long Bed Fleetside. It has a fresh mildly built 350 butted up to the stock 4 speed. The truck is in fairly decent condition.
I have been reading and reading tons of posts and following along with all the projects. I am finding that I am no closer to knowing what I want to do with this truck because my mind is in sensory overload. LOL I am finding that I am somewhat limited due to the truck being a C20. But I am slowly finding alternatives and ways to get where I want to go with it. My plan and hope at this point is to do a power steering/disc brakes conversion and bag it one day. Ask me next week and I am sure my vision will change

Been on here for a bit, but on the 57 side of things. Recently picked up this 66 and it's become my daily driver. The best part of my work day is getting/leaving there every day! Active duty USMC with a little over 27 yrs now.
Here are a few pics and a link to my adventure to go pick up the 66. My adventure

Hey, Herbie here, been checking this site out for a while. Have a 66 C10 long fleet side still with original wood that I built 7 years ago, pics to come as I'm in between computers right now. Original 250 3 on the tree still kickin, been in the family since 1970, and hopefully never leaves the family! Some amazing trucks on this site, glad to be a part!

Damian here. I have been lurking for a while but finally picked up a 62 a couple months back. I have used so many different posts from this site I couldn't possibly count them. I am only 38 but have been married for 18 years to the love of my life and have two great kids. I am the VP of the Reapers car club based in Speedway Indiana. We are just starting out as a club and always looking for prospective members, wouldn't mind having a few more 60-66 jewels in the club

I'm new to the site and wanted to introduce myself. I'm an aircraft mechanic, live in Utah (outside of SLC). I have a 1964 Chevrolet C10, 1936 Chevrolet 1/2t, 1937 Plymouth P4, 1969 Manx style buggy. I have used this site as a resource in putting my 64 on the road and thought I would sign up...

HI, my name is Ben and my most recent project is a 1966 C20 Stepside longbed. I bought from the second owner who had it 36 years and used it daily as his work truck.
Just found this site a few weeks ago. I have to say that this is the most informative site I have ever seen. Will need as much advise and hel as you are willing to give....... Ignore the date, didnt set the camera date before we took the pictures, they were taking last week |

Re: The 1960 - 1966 Member Introductions
I'm Doug & I just bought a 66 C10 from a friend about a month ago and it's my first truck build. Worked on Camaros and Cutlass most my life but when I had a chance to buy this, I sold the Cutlass and bought it.
Other than my fuel injected 383 & T56, I'm torn between the stock long fleetside bed or a stakebed/flatbed. I like the idea/looks of beer keg gas tanks between the cab and rear tires... Here's my build thread I started in the project section. http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=540838 |
