haha well that's kinda the point... may end up going all red on the body though..... add some wheel trim and maybe side vinyl....and northern? Since when is TN northern? I mean I know it is in comparison to TX but dude im from MI...Now thats northern lol

Dude when you're as southern as me everything is northern! Last christmas I did a motor swap outside wearing a t-shirt if that tells you anything lol

LOL!!! I hate you...One because i wish I could do a motor swap...2 because you did that at Christmas....On Christmas I was outside, with a decent jacket on cutting out the floor panel and rockers.....Installed the new one on the driver side that day and got a piece of metal in my eye lol....It was chilly but not too bad

Well it runs. too bad i forgot about not having an oil sending unit and blew oil everywhere LOL. Whats next on your ride?

Well im still working on the hood and passenger side fender...Put some bondo on a few of the dings last night. WIll probably do a lil more tonight if I can but this weekend is a wash. My friends bachelor party is this weekend so ill be gone....

Eitherway still tons to do...Need to lube up the speedo wire before i reinstall the rest of the interior.
Need to replaced the rear tail seal so the trans stops leaking....(and pray thats the last leak)
Need to double check the trans filler tube as I believe its leaking some too

After that more patching....Driver fender needs patched and so does the bed...

I litterally have tons...Need install my relay harness, my new pedals, patch the cab corners, sand and prime etc etc

I hear ya, I have so far to go on my truck, but I just go outside and tinker with it for a few hours everyday, one day it'll be there.

yeah i try to every day but i work this 9 - 5 and then i need to hit the gym and such...Si little light to hit it every day. Usually I get most my work done on saturdays

I know what you mean, on the weekends I usually like to get some buddies over to drink some beer and wrench on things.

haha! Dude all you have to do is get on amazon or harbor freight and pay $100....Flux core welder...It aint pretty but after a few tries and a lil grinding it will do the trick

I actually thought about buying one of those little cheapie harbor freight flux cores just to try out.

well i dont have a ton of money to buy an expensive mig so i just went with it...Plus i didnt want gas..I mean i store it in a spare bed room

LOL reminds me of building a small block chevy on the back porch, and having a craftsman toolbox in my bedroom. Im sure those small welders will do the job just fine. What size wire are you running?

.035 and .030......I believe.....
Dude I have a small room full of tools and parts,,,,, Ive bought small 18v impact, 5lb air compressor, welder, sockets, extensions, air flange/hole punch, and tons more...I work on most the parts on my back porch and the truck i work on in the driveway...Haha So yes this is very similar

I must say im jealous of your driveway. Right now we're working on building a shop but until then im in the dirt. I moved and went from having a 40x80 shop to nothing. not even a damn carport LOL

most of my sheetmetal welding i use .030 or even .023. It dont take much for sheetmetal.

so is it better to use .030? I just kinda bought ti and started welding with the .035 i bought with it. I have a spool of .030 that came with it as well.... Kinda a newb when it comes to welding...They look horrible when i weld except spots and i burn through a lot even though i keep in on min and have the speed at like 4

This welder only handles .030 or .035 so..yeah

My driveway is only 9ft wide but it is what it is..No carport here either.... One day lol

go with the .030.

Get you some scrap sheetmetal and start running beads. My buddy is a certified code welder and taught me everything he knows, I can give you some pointers.

Yeah i would greatly appreciate them....If you look at my fender wells you can see the crap beads i do....I cant get a nice seam weld for anything...THat and my auto darkening helmet makes it where I can barely see

Does your hood have a variable shade? I weld with a hobart variable shade auto darkening, I use it for everything from running the cutting torch to arc welding 3/8s wall drill stem with 7018 rod and 125 amps. Its very versatile.

Yes it is adjustable.... havent messed with it much though...Just kinda put it together and went to town
