Re: My rusty 58 stepside build
this is my 97 dodge truck. for a couple of years a squirrel thought it would be a good nut storage container. i had to clean a 5 gal bucket of nuts from under the hood every day. nuts would roll under the throttle cam and stick the throttle wide open. nuts got in the steering shaft and you couldn't turn the wheel. air cleaner, tube and fender intake was full of nuts
nothing personal, but i hate squirrels this is my whole yard every fall, mowing the lawn is a class one hazard in the fall

Re: My rusty 58 stepside build
the skin is only tacked on , i need to a bunch of pillar work this week. i will hang it and line it up to the new cab corner after. I left it tacked so i could move it in or out for alignment. I also primed the door so it won't rust while waiting..very rainy and humid here in FL right now.

Re: My rusty 58 stepside build
Squirrel,
What did you do to the rusty interior of the door before welding the patch panel back on? I'm considering sand blasting mine with my el cheapo siphon feed Craftsman blaster and painting with some KBS I have. Either that or use one of the commonly available spray can anti rust paints. Whatever you did, did you do it to the rusty metal under the floor repairs you did too? |

Re: My rusty 58 stepside build
I have an Eastwood sandblaster I hit the inside with then sprayed rust inhibitor all over it. As for the floors, there is no rusty anything under my floors. I cut all the trashed material away and welded new panels in.
