Re: Project "BLACKOUT"
Let's see here. Alot of time has passed. Probably assumed either the truck got sold or it got in an accident. Well I have just been working alot and now I have finally gotten back to the truck and started to get some work done to it. Here's a pic after I put linseed oil on it. Oh yeah it's chrome now too so I guess it's not really that blacked out anymore. Nothing really done besides the pushbar. (God I miss it but I didn't fit the truck so adios to that)

Re: Project "BLACKOUT"
Now to the part when I actually get stuff done. Next on the objective was to make it lower and we'll handle a lot better. So I decided to get cpp upper and lower control arms and run Hotchkiss front springs. Running a 3 inch drop spindles and pretty much am running a 73 and up control arms to have a bit of a meatier tie rod and have more than just a two year span for parts interchangeability. (Fun fact that tie rod adjuster sleeves go from 1971 to 1980 something so I didn't have to change much with my suspension.) I did have an issue with my wheels coming in contact with the control arm so I ran a half inch spacer to keep the wheel from contacting the lower control arm. Rip stupid pushbar. 😭

Re: Project "BLACKOUT"
To be honest your just going to have to deal with a lot of these pics sideways. Don't really have the patience to fix them. So remember the issue I had with the wheel contacting the control arm? Yeah I almost forgot about that. Well I'm already looking into bigger brakes soooo bye bye 15 inch rallies and hello 17 inch pro comps. Also decided to ditch my halogens and get into this century and put in some led headlights and the difference is just incomparable. That and I had to do something about the janky ass lmc hd harness. ( Pretty much threw it out. Live and learn)

Re: Project "BLACKOUT"
Now it's time that I should explain that I have ran into a problem. My exhaust hangs way too low and well I scrape a decent amount. And with my parts coming in for the rear I need to figure something out.

Re: Project "BLACKOUT"
Yikes that is what my transmission cross member was.... And it wasn't even bolted in place. But now I have my new cross member in and I'm definitely happy with how it turned out. Was a bit of a tight fit but if railroading taught me anything it would be to just bend the metal how you want it. Or just shove a pointed chisel in the hole and work her into place.

Re: Project "BLACKOUT"
Engine bay is as bland as ever. I will say I got some goodies coming in next week. Still gotta figure out a header that's going to tuck up. Honestly really don't want to spend a lot since the end goal is still going ls. But I have to change my tank around so for now I gotta keep the small block. Unfortunately most threads on the headers are outdated and some of the links have died but oh well I'll figure it out on my own like I usually do.
