Re: What you drug home this weekend...
This parts truck came home today. I am trading weight for it at the scrap yard.
This truck is rough but had a few decent parts. To bad the cab roof is dented up in back. |

Will post pics later today- picked up a '65 LWB 2WD No eng/trans, but pretty solid/older resto truck. Will be a good daily driver.

I wonder what it hit, the damage is high on the hood, but nothing on the grill - yikes.

Re: What you drug home this weekend...
This is the '65 LWB we got the other day. Got a chance to drag it home Saturday morning. First pics are as we brought it home(we did get a hood, it was off tho) Then a couple pics after a good dose of Purple Power and a scrub brush under the hood. Finally, we got the engine bolted in. Nothing fancy, just a 305 TBI from our '91 olds we parted out. Keeping the TBI since I have the parts. stil undecided on trans, have the manual trans bellhousing bolted in and thinking of using the 3 spd, than maybe later doing a T5 swap.
This is a budget build- the goal is 4 weeks and under $1500. leaving the body alone except for replacing the missing lower front fender bolts. Brakes are very good, but will get a dual master cyl and prop valve. |

Re: What you drug home this weekend...
Spent way too much for it, but I've always wanted a 60...and all of the trim is there. The floor of the cab is one of the straightest I've ever seen as well...Bonus! Needs the carb re-sealed and a good bit of body work touch-ups here and there... but it drives nice.

Re: What you drug home this weekend...
Good idea. What year is it and how did you settle on what year for the donor? What engine does it have. Are you going with all of the drive train? I am thinking about similar idea.

The truck's lt ft wheel cylinder blew out driving around the yard last week, so I redid the brakes Saturday. Good thing that didn't happen on my test drive !! The old 235 is noisy as hell when it's cold but gets quieted down after a couple miles. |

Re: What you drug home this weekend...
Nice truck 70inline6. Almost completely original.
Love the Door Decal on the 61. Precursor to the Check the Champ promotion in 63. All those dealer window posters too. Great photo!
