Re: Projekt Housewyfe
How did you get the passenger door to line up at the top. Was it just as simple as replacing the hing pins or was there other magic you performed. I'm having the same issue on my '80.

Re: Projekt Housewyfe
i stuck a wooden baseball bat in between the jamb, by the striker pin, then rolled the window down set the door against it, and gently pushed the top section, little by little checking clearance everytime.
however, make sure your door isnt out of align in the front where where it bolts to the hinges. sometimes, years of slamming doors on worn out hinge pins, will knock the door out of align. my door was just warped for what ever reason. the way to check for out of align is to close the door, and look at the door from the front of the truck and see if the front towards where the a-pillar, fender and door all meet, and see if its leaned out there too. if its leaned out in the front too, replace your pins and bushings, then adjust accordingly, then bend the door if you have too. |

Re: Projekt Housewyfe
stumbled upon my tire size today. me and the wife were out christmas shopping, and walking into the store was a brand new looking 86 c10 in the parking lot. he had hole style mags on it, they were 15's but i couldnt tell the width. didnt look like more than 8's. he was running a 245-60....and it looked absolutely perfect, for what im looking for. not too tall, not too flared, not too "bubbly".....yet, still decently wide, perfect.

Re: Projekt Housewyfe
Thanks Shoob. That makes sense. I'll replace the pins first, then see what it will need after that.

Re: Projekt Housewyfe
got home today with a little daylight left to burn, so we aired up the tired, moved it around (to keep county code ordinances off our asses), snapped a few pics on sorta level ground. fixin to just buy another set of drop spindles, i cant sit around and wait on UPS's claim service for the first set. i think this time ill opt for 3" spindles. im definitly gonna raise the front leaf hangers. its still not low enough for me.
i still need to get off my ass and go and get some 1x flat steel stock, so i can make my tail light brackets, and get my seat rails made to mount the seats. i also picked up a set of cerwin vega cabinet house speakers at the local thrift store for $10, pretty good deal, they have 8" sub woofers, 4" mids, and 2.5" dome tweeters. they stand about 16" tall, ill be cutting them in half horizontally, re capping the box, and porting them, so i can mount them behind the seats, they sound so damn good!! i think them paired with my pioneer 12" sub, in its seperate enclosure sound just right. also got my tail lights in the mail, as well as the "blue dots", wrapped those up tonight, now i just need to get the damn brackets made so i can mount them. |

Re: Projekt Housewyfe
Love blue dots. Got one on my bike and have a set to install on my swb. What tire/wheel size combo are you using? I'm pretty sure I know what I need, but it's always good to get more info when I see something I like.

Re: Projekt Housewyfe
That is a good size on a dropped truck. These are 245/60's on 8" rallies on the front of my truck. 5" of front drop.

Re: Projekt Housewyfe
I'm going for a 4/5 drop and looking at getting some black 15x10 rims all the way around with 245/60's in the front and 295/50's in the back. Any thoughts on that setup? Can I put 2 different sized tires on that rim size?
