Yep. A c-notch roughly goes through half the frame, right? The notch I want to do will go just slightly above the frame - not the 6 inches or so you see a lot of. Just enough to get the frame to set level with some allowance for suspension travel.

I want to see that.......i have a simple c notch but i would like a slight bit more but not a tall notch....I dont have to lay the frame

The blue/white? I saw that when I was there last. That is really turning out nice!

Or is it just the cab in primer? Heck, he has so much going on it's hard to keep them straight.

Here's the notch that I bought from Scott's. You can buy it welded like you see here and cut it down to the height you want, or you can buy it in kit form. I went the kit route because this allows you to cut the frame in such a way so there is no overlap and the frame sides will be smooth.

I'll get pics as this happens so you get a better idea.



You also need to know that when you do this, you're looking at bed floor modifications. Kind of a domino effect.

gotcha..........I have seen thoses I have not installed one but I like the idea of being able to cut it down the way you like.....I dont mind the bed floor modification part. thats all pretty simple.

I'll let you in on my secret - hire someone that knows what they're doing.

Kyle has done a ton of these trucks and knows how to do it all. When you have a person like him instead of trying to round different people up, get their schedules aligned, it's much tougher. On this project, there's a lot more to it than I can handle.

I've got another project - Tom - which I'm doing most of, and it's going at a lot slower pace, so I know your pain. I usually only get to work on it on weekends since my shop is about 20 miles away.

Every order Scott's does is made to spec. Justin asked a lot of questions about what I expected the truck to do, what kind of stance I was looking for, etc. After I came to the conclusion I would actually be driving the truck and expecting it to carve some corners, I decided to use his bolt in IFS with the coil over set up.

These pictures actually came from his shop. They completely assemble everything to make sure it goes together before they ship it out.

I get that all the time. My wife gets livid because she knows exactly what I'm up to. She says" Hun you've got more boxes on the porch. How much did you spend this time". Lol not much. Cough cough. I love deliveries. Looks good bro.

I'll tell you guys my fix for this problem. I have all my stuff delivered to my work I get the stuff early in the mornimg and if work is slow I have time to play with my new toys

A friend offered to take delivery for me, but I figure a death by a thousand cuts is better than just showing up at the house one day with a remodeled truck

I've been married 38 years and have tried every method I can think of. This works as bad as any.

I can't believe I just now saw this! Count me in!!

I know about the wife's reaction all to well. I've been getting boxes once or twice a week for the last month. I'm constantly asked "how much did you spend this time" and "what's this box for?" followed by "when are you going to start SAVING your money?" The deliveries stopped for a while after I got my goat to it's current state, but then I bought the truck... I LOVE getting new parts!

I know what you mean. But as you can tell from my build thread the changes to my truck have so far been on the underside, you know the drivetrain and the options. When it comes time for air bags and body panels, she will be well informed Cause as much as I love my truck, it is the most uncomfortable thing to sleep in.

With the suspension tucked inside the frame rails, that leaves a huge gap between the frame and the rim that is just begging to be filled. Stuffed with tire I'm thinking - 335's? Since we're raising the bed and going to a raised floor, this is definitely the time to do that. A little surgery to the axle will also be in order.

This build is gong to be great.. You are still going to do more surgery on the area where the rear axle goes.. correct?
