Re: Just another old truck.
No, no doggie prints. It got painted yellow because that's what I had on the shelf. Can't find any Lt. Aqua. Oh well. The shroud seems to be working but hasn't been put to any real test yet.

Re: Just another old truck.
Back for another round. I made the door panels several mounts ago. As usual it took longer to decide what I wanted to do than the actual job. Saw all kinds of possible ways to go and finally decided on the simple one. For my color choice it was clean and simple. Took somebodys interior I liked and put my own spin on it. Still have more painting to do but its getting there.

Re: Just another old truck.
Good morning Rich, Kim, and Denee007, (I like the 007 part). Looks like I did some sleep posting late last night. Thanks for the comments. Denee, the door latch arms still rattle when the door is shut but I've got some ideas that will take care of that when it comes apart for paint. Glad that you got your diff problems taken care of.

Re: Just another old truck.
Hello again. It seems that the more I work on Clarance J. the more there is to do. Let me start by saying thank you to Ogre. 1) for the comments and, 2)letting me (us) see what could be done with fiberglass. Got the idea for my fan shroud from that.
After putting the carpet in and looking at everything I just could not keep that stock S10 shifter. It had to be replaced but with what. There's nothing that I could buy to change it. But I could make something. I wanted a shifter that gave the impression that there was a 4 speed, not a 5 speed and looked like the old Hurst shifter that I used to have in there. SO.....

Re: Just another old truck.
And last. The steel cost $15.60. I could not buy anything that would bolt up and still have to be modified for that. So once again one more thing half way done. And I just keep wrenching away.

Yes, yes, I love the 'ole drill method, I'm always excited when I see others using it.
Good fit on the shifter handle. Jim |

Re: Just another old truck.
Nice job on the shifter bud. I have one of those original Hurst shifters sitting in my shop right now, had I known you were looking for one, I would have shipped it your way

Re: Just another old truck.
Nice work on the shifter! For my shifter I will be welding a couple 1-1/4" combination wrenches together.

Re: Just another old truck.
Well, back for another round. First of all, my thanks. And dubie, thanks for the offer for the shifter. I might have had a Hurst shifter in there had I known.
Stepside Jim, yes that's it pretty much it. I like to fab all the parts that I can. One reason that I'm glad that I found this site. We all like to see what the other guy is doing and share what we have done. This bunch of pictures was taken in July 2013. It's been a long time since I've been able to look at the underside of Clarance J without crawling on the ground. So this is a day at Expert Tire.

Re: Just another old truck.
moving right along. I painted my frame silver so it would make it lighter when I am under the truck. Your yellow frame lightens it up too. The older I get the more light I need. Rich
