Re: 20 mpg hijack thread
Yes, weld another bung on and install one of the extenders I linked. My Speedo is about 10mph off as well according to my gps. The best way I can figure out to calculate mpg is to top off, go for a drive of known distance (mapquest) come back to the same gas station and top off again, use the gallons it took to top back off and divide by the miles. I want to get my speedo fixed, but its kind of expensive for what it is....
There has to be a better way to calc mpg... |

Re: 20 mpg hijack thread
Turns out the o2 sensor was pretty important. Engine is running good now. Not great but wwwaaaayyyy more better. Still has a slight bogging or miss step at the beginning of starting to accelerate from a stop. Just ever so slight of a hesitation starting off. After that all is good. Runs on out pretty strong.

Re: 20 mpg hijack thread
Will your GPS tell you distance travelled?
If so, use that divied by gallons required to re-top the tank. Or possibly figure out the amount of difference between what your speedo is telling you and what your GPS is telling you and use that factor to recalculate your distance travelled? If your speedo is saying 60 but your GPS is saying 68 then divide 68 / 60 (1.133) and multiply your distance by that figure; if your odometer says 200 miles, then it would actually be 226.66. Or do the opposite and divide 60 by 68 (0.8824) and divide you miles travelled by that amount (200 / 0.8824) = 226.66. I am pretty sure that should work?
