Thanks. I am building this truck up from scratch after tearing it down. It was sitting for 10 years in New England. Plan was go original but the engine wasn't original so plans changed. Picked up a nice 235, runs great. Then decided to go to a 12 volt system. I plan to pick up a 12 volt ballast resistor from the local parts store (I hope).

This was an engine starting post and after replacing the engine it is running very nice. Thank you all. The ballast resister was placed between the starter positive and the positive solenoid along with an on/off switch. See picture. Will this drop the voltage and save the points as installed?
