Re: One Year Only Stuff 67-72...

People say the 67 seat folds forward but mine does not (unless maybe ifyou remove the bolts). Is it only buddy buckets that fold.?

My '67 has two wingnuts that if removed allows the back seat to be folded forwarded....

I have a 1969 C10 that was issued to the US Navy, it came with the Navy Blue interior. The Navy was cheap, my truck was ordered very basic, the radio delete panel is pretty cool though.

I don't know why it wasn't a more popular option... I really like the color. Its way better than that lighter blue that's for sure.

Re: One Year Only Stuff 67-72...

I don't think anyone mentioned the vertical "bars" in the 1970 grill insert. I think there are 5. Not sure how this was accomplished but I would guess they painted the insert except for the darker "bars". The '69 grill insert was a solid color. I think the insert in mine is a repop but the area that should be darker is inset about a 1/32". My brother bought a new '69 and a couple months later I bought a new '70. Parked side by side the difference was quite noticeable. I drove a lot of miles with him in my rear view mirror. I'd be interested to see some pictures and to hear how guys have accomplished this.

Wanted to add that side marker lights were optional in '69 also. My '69 C10 had reflectors my '69 C20 had the market lights.

Re: One Year Only Stuff 67-72...

The '68 CST two tone bench seat is unique to 68's. 67 CSTs were all buddy buckets. Buddy buckets were optional for 68 CSTS. I think the top of the line bench seat design changed in 69.

Re: One Year Only Stuff 67-72...

I know that this is an old thread, but 1967 was the 1st year that the transfercase in 4WD trucks was married to the transmission and was the only year that the SM420 was married to the Rockwell T-221. 1968 saw the adoption of the SM465 married to the T-221. I believe that combination was available until sometime in 1969 when the NP205 transfercase was introduced.

I didn't see 70 4x4s were a one year only front differential- open knuckle with drum brakes. 69 and older were closed knuckle drum and 71 and newer were disc.

Used to be that the interior color on all chevy trucks was that silvery "champagne" color. Regardless of the exterior paint scheme. When did that end? My 67 c30 was painted that way.

I have been told that the 70 inner grille is not reproduced, only the 69 style without the recessed areas.

Can you elaborate a little more or show a pic? I'm trying to draw a picture in my mind but drawing a blank on this one.

The 67-68 windsheild opening has a 1/2 inch recess for the rubber all the way around , in 69 it just kinda disappears goin up the A pillar. No pics , I'm not that smart .... or I would have figured it out before I put a 70 roof on my 68 ... LOL

Re: One Year Only Stuff 67-72...

Not only were the 67 visor hooks different (the screw did not thread into the metal it split 2 plastic tabs to hold it in place) the hooks were mounted with the opening downward in 67 and 68 up they were upward.

This is partially true. This applies to K10 trucks. The 1969 K/5 Blazers had open knuckle drum brake D44 front axles.

1970 only TCS relay mounted to the firewall by the heater box. The relay itself had two different styles, but they functioned the same.

They called it ''FAWN''. Yes, a silver/gold mix.
The interior of my '67 K/10 Suburban is totally Fawn with a White exterior.
My '68 C/10 Stepside has an Orange [516] interior and exterior, but with Fawn notes: Steel door panels, and Steering column and 3-spoke Wheel painted in Fawn. Matching Fawn synthetics: Vinyl seat cover, Seat belts, Sun visors, Visor hooks, vinyl Dash pad.
Both trucks are from Fremont. CA.

So they had a little Fawn left in the 1968 Model Year, and they used it up on contrast trim.
