Well, his last post on the site was a few months after he posted that here. He'd find it interesting I'm sure, but he's off doing other things I guess.
Meanwhile, you've been busy! That's a dramatic rework of the paint! I went back through the previous pages and I see that the new scheme uses colors you've had in mind for a long time. Looks like you're getting it out and about too and that's cool to me. |

Re: 1985 S-Blazer in Az
took it to a car show about 200 miles away and on the ride back home the axle developed a noise.
I removed it and dropped it off to be opened up and inspected. a wheel bearing was crunchy, but they installed new pinion seal, axle seals, and checked everything out for a clean bill of health. Currently i have the fuel cell out getting some modifications and and working on the interior.

Re: 1985 S-Blazer in Az
Today I was able to clean up after Halloween, and then make and weld up a trailer ‘receiver’ behind the license plate. Tomorrow I’ll pick up some 2-inch tubing to make the flag holder for Saturdays Flag Run.
Got the rear axle installed with the new updated link bars. Installed the driveline and might go back out here in about 30 minutes to install the brake calipers, tires and get Balzer back on the ground. The modifications to the fuel cell seem to be right on par with what I wanted, as I can see through the unpainted (yuck) fuel door right into the fuel filler. While I still had the fuel pump assembly out of the tank, I powered it up and checked the fuel gauge to make sure it was reading correctly and without any ‘dead’ spots. This is still the original 2005 Colorado pump assembly. The engine, trans, fuel pump, wiring, and engine accessories have 112k on them. So all in all, Balzer should be drivable tomorrow morning, and fingers crossed the dang noise is gone..

Re: 1985 S-Blazer in Az
The interior is still at the shop, and I have been logging some miles just enjoying it.
Soon, I'll need to remove the doors and do the jambs, carpet and wiring for the audio. Going to add a layer of heat relfecting material on the firewall and remount the vintage air box. I've figured out the graphics for the hood, so need to get some free time to lay those out.

Re: 1985 S-Blazer in Az
Most of the interior has been completed.
Being in phx, average days are around 110 degrees. -not fun to do interior work. Hoping to have it completed in a few months once the weather calms down.
