Started woking on the bed. Got all the wood mounted, gas tank filler installed, then took it all back apart to stain. Wood is Yellow Pine bought at Home depot, cut and drilled at home.








Sat the bed on it just to get a peek. I like the stance in the back.



Stained the wood. Gotta get back home this weekend and put the Satin finish on it.

I took the bed out for a wash with scotch bride, soap and water. Then I cleared it.

The engine bay is almost complete. Still need to find an air intake and upper radiator hose.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

LoL..... 2.5yrs is but a drop in the bucket. I've been staring @ my exhaust for 6months now on my 'Recycle' project '64 which was started sometime in 2010 I think. Just not happy w/the way it was turning out so I just keep looking @ it waiting on the inspiration for the proper/necessary corrections.

My plans have also changed in the interim & I'm upgrading the power-plant to shred some rubber. It never ends.

Heres what I did with my exhaust. I don't like the bends, but its not a Hi-Po engine or anything.

I tried to put my glass in before I went out of town for the week, but the seal was too big, and did not fit correctly. So I called the glass company back and they will be out Monday morning to get r done. Why cant aftermarket **** fit right??

I didn't want to be a dick and mention it when you posted that picture on the first page. Roll the upper shafts 180 degrees and put the convex square shim inside. The nut should go directly against the flat side of the shaft.

Also, your upper ball joint bolts are installed wrong. The bolt head goes on the underside and the nut goes on top. The reason why is when you fully grease the balljoints, the boots will swell and tend to rub on the sharp threads of the bolt sticking out of the nut if you install them the way you have. That's also why the bolts have lo-profile heads rather than normal tall heads. Most manufacturers of ball joints put a little instruction sheet in the box (which no one reads) that explains this.
