Re: 1966 C10 Porterbuilt, Accuair build (The Outsider)
We have been making some small gains. I always feel there is a point in a build when progress goes from huge gains to little victories and thats where I am at. I have been putting in some late nights and weekends trying to have it done for our BBQ on Sept 27th. Fingers crossed its done!
I have a appointment at the drive shaft shop monday then to exhaust. So in the last few days I have been plumbing brakes, mounting the cooling system and get her ready. Matt (the owner) has also been putting in time which has been a huge help. He built the doors that turned out amazing in my opinion. roughed in the under dash wiring and some odds and end jobs. Its really fun to have him in the shop turning wrenches and seeing what really goes into a project of this size. Thanks for all the compliments. The txt and phone calls have been fantastic! I am proud to say that Fred's Truck Parts is now a vendor for Moosehead Radiators and fuel tanks. And although this has a Griffin radiator in it. I am very excited to get the Moosehead tank and install it. |

Re: 1966 C10 Porterbuilt, Accuair build (The Outsider)
Although we are running 15s I have to admit, Del's style has been a huge influence on me, I think some of it shows in this truck. I had to run his valve cover adapter with the original valve covers. I even like the way it looks with the very "industrial" looking truck intake.

Kyle you are down to the small stuff that takes what seems like the majority of the time. I will say that I am at Fred's on a pretty regular basis and every time I see progress. This truck is coming along nicely.

Truck is looking great. Wheels look like stock. What is the tire size on all 4. I may decide to also go that route.

Re: 1966 C10 Porterbuilt, Accuair build (The Outsider)
Thanks everyone for the kind words. We are working hard. The goal is to drive it out of the shop this sunday, park it in the parking lot for our open house then drive it to the local brewery after. We have a shot but its going to be a long week.

Re: 1966 C10 Porterbuilt, Accuair build (The Outsider)
I let this fall off. The truck is pretty much done at this point. Rear wheel wells and hood hinges and she is done. I have been putting a lot of miles on her lately and she is currently in the hands of the owner so I can get a few other projects out of the shop. It took 9 or so months to build this truck start to now.
Here is the cluster all dolled up and ready to install. Also the Fred's Truck Parts center speaker prototype and the production piece. |

Extremely happy with the Accuair system. Easy to install, easy to program. Literally set it and forget it.

There was a ton of work into these hubcaps to make them this nice! I am very happy with them. Also got the subframe for the bedwood done, wood got stained and installed.

Re: 1966 C10 Porterbuilt, Accuair build (The Outsider)
Awesome build. How did you get the factory gauge cluster to work with the LS engine. I'm doing this same build, but don't have it bagged just static dropped.
Thanks Chuck |

I can set you up with everything to make your life easy if you would like. Give me a call or shoot me a email. |

Re: 1966 C10 Porterbuilt, Accuair build (The Outsider)
Thank you. I fought the stereo idea for awhile. Im a go fast stop fast kind of guy. the customer showed up with all the speakers and amp and said figure it out.
I'm glad I did, It's now one of my favorite parts of the truck. |

Re: 1966 C10 Porterbuilt, Accuair build (The Outsider)
Thank You.
Thanks, I have a few more tweeks to make it a bit better. We got the A/C and heater cranking last night and I fixed a driveshaft issue. A few small things left but nothing major. The customer is daily driving it now and happy as could be. |
