Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.

BigDav,
My 69 is a solid olive green...someone told me it was a one coat paint - poly?? (don't know what they call that).
I also noticed in an earlier picture his dash color looks identical to my interior and exterior olive green. I really like the exterior green on his Sub, but it does look a bit more "green" than my olive green or even his dash green.

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.

Hi WannaBe68, BigDav is right, the exterior has been painted. I am pretty sure the interior paint is original. The truck came with pretty good documentation on the build and I can check the documents for exterior paint code if you need. Be glad to get more pics if you need too.

You have a good description of the exterior color, it looks more green...a bit sharper than the interior.

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.

Well, I went through the information I have on the Burb and there isn't any paint code information that I could find. BigDav is correct, the b pillar is original and the doors are painted same as exterior color.

It was a nice week end to have the Burb out.

Your orange one is awesome, yet this green has really grown on me.

Wow, here it is October already and I think we've had the Burb to one cruise in....

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.

Your Burban is very nice. I just read the thread and forgive me if I missed it but you said it had some issues with the exhaust to fix? Thats one of the big items left on my list and I was wondering what you found wrong, so maybe I can avoid the same pitfall.
Thanks. VC

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.

Thanks VC...the exhaust on this one is "Ok". I don't like the exit location and would rather have the exhaust run out the back.

Check out Bowtieguy79's build thread above as he updated his exhaust and I like how it came out.

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.

Cool thanks for the tip. I will check it out. Although with my deformed lower gate preventing a good seal I'm probably going to end up going out the side.

Yeah I saw the issue with your gate...ugh... not fixable without hurting paint I guess?

We did make one more local cruise in...

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.

Until I get time and funds to redo the interior I will have to live with it. Then its going to be a slide hammer or to cut it open and jack it up repair. Decisions decisions. Between the windows rattling in their frames and the stupid exhaust dumping at the crossmember I never noticed it. There was no point in turning the radio on unless you were at a red light. Maybe I'll just call the dealer and order a new one. I have been experimenting with alternate weatherstripping to seal it up, maybe I'll get lucky.

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.

HO455...hopefully that will work out for the rear gap on your Burb.

Thanks Kehstr...

Occasionally there is a question about drop and tire size. Since I bought this just as it is I don't know what drop is on it. Here is the tire size....

Your oldest grandson must be getting close to driving age, is he asking you about taking it for a spin when he has his license?

He turns 16 this month and he always enjoys driving something around the place when he has a chance.
