Re: daily drivers

My "72 Stepper. Built it specifically to drive every day. Found a truck with factory A/C, power steering and front disc brakes, had a little body work done and paint and now just drive it. I must admit I do put down a mat before I haul anything in the bed. I put too much work in to the wood!!!

My "72 Stepper. Sorry, I hit submit instead of preview. Here is a pic of my truck. Thought you might want to see more than just the wood bed... DW

My daily Cheyenne with upgrades, vintage air, rear disk brakes, front and rear sway bars, close ratio steering box, digital retro stereo and still rocking the 3OTT...for now. One day I'll take some good photos.

Re: daily drivers

My 12 month daily driver. 40 miles a day to work unless it's nice out and I drive the 69 Mustang in.

Some proof.

That's how my whole life would have been if I lived where winter is more kind on sheet metal. I tried here, and just can't see asking for the rust. Just plain foolish to do. that's how all the trucks got rusted in the first place and why we have to restore the bodies or rob the SW of their good stuff. I've tried living in the west but ended up back here, then married and tied down.

Here is my daily driver I don't drive daily since we have salted roads. It's from CA and I've had it for 14 years. I drove it till December when I ran down to GA for a '95 Suburban for a winter vehicle. Even those are getting rusty around here. I was getting nervous and watching the weather, then finally grabbed this as a winter storm could have come any day. I made the money to buy the Suburban out of this truck. Second picture is what I like to do with my 4wds...get out before the plows and salt (just up my road and back):

Re: daily drivers

I know its "each to his own" when it comes to our trucks, but for me--this is where it's at. A solid, well preserved and maintained classic (maybe with a few tweaks) that keeps doing what it was meant to do 40-45 yrs ago. Love these trucks.

Re: daily drivers

I totally agree lou. Sure i like show trucks as much as anyone but i really like trucks i can drive everyday, any where and park any where ya know. A real daily truck. Museum pieces aren't good for much 'cept looking at. 😉

Re: daily drivers

I built show trucks years ago and it's out of my system. I love these trucks too much to not use them.

That's cool! Glad you like it. Snow can be a wonderful thing. I just wish they wouldn't salt the roads so all the goons would just stay home like they should do anyway.
