Re: 72 El Camino Daily Driver Project
Thanks Flashed. Pretty happy with it.
Thanks A.D. really growing on me. GM calls it code 43 Gulf Green. I think on the C10's they call it light olive.

Yeah, finding him has helped the project move along at a much faster pace. Here are a few pics from this past weekend. Got the hood hung and scratched the paint on the top of both fenders while adjusting it. Bummer. Oh well, probably just sand and re-shoot em while they are in place now.

Re: 72 El Camino Daily Driver Project
Thanks. Very cool story. I bet that delivery truck rode like a dream. I am wanting to make this my daily driver for the next 10 years till I retire. Kinda want to park my 06 Diesel pickup and drive something cool instead.

Re: 72 El Camino Daily Driver Project
Part of the build where it slows down to a crawl. Especially with this 106* weather we been having.
I put the vinyl top on the car and sat it out in the sun prior to delivering it to the upholster. Can't wait to get it back with the top on and carpet in place. Got my glass guy coming next Friday to install the front and back glass. Just trying to keep inching it along towards the finish line. Gonna move in the next month so progress will dry up I am sure. Oh well,

Re: 72 El Camino Daily Driver Project
I don't know about inching along as you've moved fast on this one. Looking real good!
Good luck with the move. Hopefully you will score a large garage space.! |

Re: 72 El Camino Daily Driver Project
Thanks A.D.
Naw, bout the same 3 car garage and backyard area I have now. Gonna have to wait for the big detached shop till I get back up to my mountain property. Too expensive down here for any land/homes. Oh well, I get by. Yall have a good one.

Re: 72 El Camino Daily Driver Project
Thanks Zoomin, Sure aint. This color with the metallic in it is about the hardest I have done so far. Would not want to tackle it again anytime soon, that's for sure.

Re: 72 El Camino Daily Driver Project
Little bit more progress. Picked the car up from the upholsterer. Installed carpet and the vinyl top. Came out great.
Took it home got the seats in and the rear tailgate installed. Small amount of progress, but I'll take it.

Right on. I always wanted one (someday) but never bought one before. Don't know why I waited so long. I think this one is gonna be a great daily driver. Can't wait. Will make my next 10 years commuting much more fun.

Re: 72 El Camino Daily Driver Project
My other (on again/off again) project.
It's a 67 Nova 4 door that is now a 2 door, full 2"X4" tube chassis, 496, glide, center steer, 411 spool. Started "Ugly Betty" about 6 or 7 years ago and she just keeps getting pushed to the back burner. Loaded up to move to the new house. Hopefully last move in my lifetime. Also, hopefully gonna finish her this coming winter.
