Your bed turned out great. Care to share what material you used and how you went about staining it?

Thank you! sure thing. I bought some rough cut cherry, cut and planned it down to size and then sanded it out nice and smooth. The stain is a "special walnut" and I applied two coats. I used latex spar varnish and applied 4 coats. color and grain match the patina well I think.

Re: Nina Patina 1953 3100 project.

Thanks everyone for all of the responses. I'm getting really close but cant get much time in the garage. The engine did fire but fuel pump was bad.. Changed pump and carb wasn't working so there's a new one in the mail! Ive finished the wiring. I need to button up the interior, build a bracket for brake light switch and bleed the brakes, install new side glass and door seals, check all bolts and align front end... And out the door she goes. If only i could just get two good days and be left alone, lol soon though!

I used FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) board from lowes and its covered with vinyl that matches the seats.

All in All though im happy with it all and now have steering. I think ill do the exhaust next? then I can throw the box back on.. stay tuned.
What did you use for the firewall mounted brake booster? Any more pictures on how it was installed?

Thank you

I got mine from CPP it is a fairly easy installation. Download template from website and drill 4 small holes and one 2". only issue that i had with it was it doesn't come with any bracket for a plunger type Brake light switch, fabbed that and am pretty happy with it

Nina has been on her maiden voyage and is running good.. a few rattles to chase down and some tuning to dial in, finish up the interior and roll!

Re: Nina Patina 1953 3100 project.

Just added this old "canteen" to my spare tire carrier. The jurys still out but I never liked having a spare on there and wouldn't change out the original stuff. what do you all think?

Neat idea..I never liked those side tire carriers either...would be neat if you could turn it into something useful ..tool box or something..
