Re: UXDesigner's 1967 C10 - The Keeper
So how did you mount the seats? I used same seats, just not sure I understand what direction you went. Your seats still slide forward and back, but you removed the tilt/remove bracketry right?

I mounted the seats flat (using the slider / track front bolts) after removing the brackets as you described. Correct, seats still move forward and back but removing the brackets makes them sit a few inches lower. |

Re: UXDesigner's 1967 C10 - The Keeper
I'm 6'0, some would say average height but the seats feel correct even for others that are shorter. I personally think the seat height (lower like true bucket seats) is what makes the truck more fun to drive. A very different driving experience from the high hunched over position.

Re: UXDesigner's 1967 C10 - The Keeper
Finally completed the door window installation with all new glass. Also wired the power window regulators with 80's GM chrome power switches, vents were completely rebuilt and permanently sealed with 3M urethane since I will be installing A/C. Next up are painting the door panels and installing, Vintage Air, stereo system and cut and buff the paint once everything is complete.

Those are factory vent windows that we're refurbished? I have new aftermarket ones that leak wind noise like crazy. Do yours leak air? Truck looks great in the sun!

Re: UXDesigner's 1967 C10 - The Keeper
Yes, I personally refurbished them with precision parts. Once installed I also had a lot of wind noise on the passenger side so ran a bead of window urethane along the outside between the glass and rubber to seal both sides. You can’t open them anymore which is fine since I plan to install a vintage air system but the cab is now silent.

Just hit 450 miles, running strong! Still have door panels to paint and A/C to install.

Man that's great. I'm jealous how fast your build has gone and already clocking miles.

Re: UXDesigner's 1967 C10 - The Keeper
I had set a goal to enter the truck in this years 4th of July parade, we made it! Kids had a blast! Still logging miles and still need to get around to the A/C and door panels.

Re: UXDesigner's 1967 C10 - The Keeper
That’s awesome! I did see a truck of that era at the end of the route but I honestly didn’t ID it as Jackelope. This parade was up in Chester, Ca. If Jackelope was there, I did see it. I wish I would have known it was a family member from the board.

Re: UXDesigner's 1967 C10 - The Keeper
I’ve been busy and putting off the A/C install because it’s been ironically too hot in the garage to work on the truck. Now that the weather has cooled of I’ve decided to wrap up the final task on the truck but I can’t decide on the lower or upper compressor setup. I find that the more I read on the subject the more confused I get and the technology keeps changing. Computer controlled or not, low or high mount, fan control, hose types, etc... looking for advice from someone that just installed an A/C system in the past 1 - 2 months.

So far everything is working excellent! This is the second time I’ve used them and I haven’t had any issues.

Installed the Kwik Performance A/C Bracket and Sanden compressor. Easy install and my intake still clears without any issues.

I bought the bracket, compressor, condenser kit with lines and dryer all from Jegs online during a holiday discount promotion.
