Re: Project: Fun Daily Driver (Plus New QA1 Coil-Over Suspension!!!)
killer progress on this truck. All-in to see more. Great products being used. Kinda reminds me of a mish-mash of the parts used across the Roadkill/Engine Masters/Hot Rod Garage shows. Will be nice to see them used on an every day truck.

I've been fairly quiet about it, but this truck was the development truck for the new QA1 suspension. Here is a shot of one of the first setups on the road back in 2017. Working at QA1 was an ideal opportunity to test this system and implement changes in real time. Since the truck is daily driven (and will continue to be), I would come to work in the morning with feedback. Engineering would evaluate and make adjustments as needed and I would drive it home and take notes again. Many others critiqued and contributed as well. Many with very diverse backgrounds in asphalt and dirt circle track racing, street rodders, drag racers and a host of other C10 enthusiasts. There is a big group of C10 guys at QA1, and all of our voices were heard. This continual critiquing continued for many months and many thousands of miles. In the end this real-time feedback led to a fantastic system designed around the wants and needs of a C10 enthusiast with unique features peppered in from other disciplines. I'm pretty excited about it! What will be installed this winter is a fresh production (non prototype) system. That spawned many of the "might as well" projects you see going on in conjunction. The qa1 kit looks great. But I've heard some complaints on nastyz28 that the coilover mounts are breaking. I'm just wondering if this is the case. I've been considering this kit with ridetech hq coilovers. But those stories have me reconsidering and going with a full ridetech kit. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has heard anything on these fairly new qa1 systems for the trucks

Re: Project: Fun Daily Driver (Plus New QA1 Coil-Over Suspension!!!)
Coil-over mounts breaking? We've had zero reports of anything like that. I was unable to find anything on nastyz28 about this. Please PM me a link if you have one.
Since everyone loves pictures, here are some from the Hot Rod Power Tour. QA1 had three trucks doing the long haul this year. So much fun! |

Re: Project: Fun Daily Driver (Plus New QA1 Coil-Over Suspension!!!)
I have had this same suspension on my '66 for a couple of months with ZERO issues. It's the best coil over suspension I've ever used by fay!

Re: Project: Fun Daily Driver (Plus New QA1 Coil-Over Suspension!!!)
It was on nastyz28. But I can't find it. Been several months since I've read it but a guy was replacing his qa1 arms with another company because his coilover mount on the arm broke twice.
Sorry not meaning to offend just curious if this was a reoccurring situation or something that has been addressed or some Internet prune who likes to complain about everything. |
