This color is totally non-metallic solid, and the single stage can be wetsanded, cut, and buffed. and is a light color... AND i have a lot extra left over. so YES i think i will spray it all single stage. opinions?

I think it's a good call, I plan to do the same 503 green with an ivory two-tone and I'm planning single stage also.

Good luck, Rg

Re: 1970 C-10 Stepside Build Progress Thread

started painting the outside. we messed up a little. but its fixable. started painting the white and realized it was reduced too much. so only got one coat of white on it, wanted to let it dry really good so we could sand it and recoat it with properly mixed paint. so we moved on to the gm code 503 light green. we werent worried about masking the roof because of course it will be redone. The rest of the truck should be painted within the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Love the color combo. Even though you've made your choice, I'll add in that my Corvette was sprayed in single stage black, no metallic or anything else and it's held up great for 15 years so far. It is 100% garage kept though, so I cant speak to it's longevity if you plan to keep in outside. Great progress you're making though!

Looking great! I'm damn sure jealous of how nice the truck looks. Love everything about it. I do think I'd rock the 4 different wheels with the matching paint on the one

Truck looks great! Always like to see another stepper rolling off the "assembly" line.

Great to see you using the one year only, 1970 grill insert. Did it come with the truck and you just freshened it up or did you find a NOS one?
