Re: C20/cummins 12 valve

Getting it blasted might not be a bad idea. Make sure all your mechanical stuff get sealed up really well. Nice on new house and shop. Nothing wrong with that.

I think at this point I should move this to suburban builds. How do I go about that?

Re: C10/Suburban Cummins

Had me confused for a while. Don't do the same mistake I did. You need to trim this back end.

Re: C10 Suburban Cummins

At least your inner wheel house wasn't all rotted out. As far as moving the thread, I'd almost leave this one here and then start a thread in the suburban area showing the progress on the burb. Thats what I'm doing on my wife's 72 burb.

Re: C10 Suburban Cummins

For your 1st timers like me:
1. Try to get all your panels from same supplier. Bottom lip where you tac to the wheel arch had to be modified to look somewhat the same.
2. Make sure you have some support on the inside pushing the panel out. I was so worried about not having big gap that I didn’t notice that the top weld from the door to the wheel arch had pushed in. This is because this section of the panel only has a horizontal support. The back half has a vertical support so didn’t have an issue on the back 1/2.
3. This was not an issue but when you weld jump around on the welds to avoid warping.
Hopefully these pics will help the next guy trying to do this job.

Re: C10 Suburban Cummins

1. This back had no issues.
2. This is the inside support.
3. Inside support.
4. This is where I see an issue. Since no inside support. Make sure you have something pushing the panel out before you weld.
5. Since I used 2 different suppliers for my panels. They required some modification to make them work. Stick to one supplier if possible.

That's looking good. I need more time to dwindle the project list down so I could work on the wife's burb.
