Not yet, waiting on some other interior parts. It won't be long though and I'll come back with a review.

Anyone know anything about the dash pad from The Parts Place.

Re: The dash pad matrix...who makes the best?

I`m watching too, I`m ready to pull the trigger. I need a maroon one for my "new to me" 87 dually. Been eyeing the ones from USA Interiors... But if I can save a couple of bucks somewhere else I don`t mind.

I looked at the Parts Place, I didn’t see where it said they were licensed by GM.
The other thing I noticed, they only had 1 blue and 1 red. That tells me that they don’t have the right colors for our trucks. That’s pretty much how LMC sells them. They have 1 generic color for the Blue and Red, when there are several shades of these colors according to the year of the truck.

I went and found it on EBay. They do have a better description on those. I have found that anytime a part says it’s a GM Licensed Reproduction, they are just like the stock parts. They have to meet the requirements of being reproduced with the original specs to say they are GM Licensed. I would say it’s worth it.
And I have gotten parts from The Parts Place in the past, and I have been happy with the quality. Although I have never gotten a dash pad from them.

Re: The dash pad matrix...who makes the best?

If no one buys one before I get to that point in my build I will buy one. Restoring a 75 K10 Silverado
I have been working on my 71 Blazer. The section of the front pan that now has one that is GM licensed as GM Repo part is much better than the others. The parts guy I know said the GM Repo hood for squarebody is really nice. I plan to try one of those as well

Re: The dash pad matrix...who makes the best?

The Parts Place shows the same color (red) for 1981 thru 1991. I`m pretty sure the later years trucks are more of a darker burgundy. So I`m still leaning back towards USA because of the color choices. I just like the darker color over the red in general...

That’s why I posted the color charts above, because there are so many shades of the Blues, Reds, greens, tans and grays.
So yes, USA1 would be the choice for the correct colors. Unless one would get the black or gray one, and then dye it yourself with the USA1 dye. I have a buddy that got one for his 79 CarmineRed. I’ve seen it personally. I couldn’t tell it was an aftermarket dash pad. Color was spot on. Fit was perfect.
I made my own color sample part with their dye. These are the colors I have used, so I made one to show people that there is a difference in the shades.

Re: The dash pad matrix...who makes the best?

I have dyed many dash pads. Back in the day the only replacement dash from the dealer was black

Re: The dash pad matrix...who makes the best?

I bought mine from dashes direct 79 blue urethane dash. I like fitment of dash but the urethane 79 blue is a little dull compared to door panels. I was going to use some armor all on it to shine but haven’t yet. I still trying to get some things with the new AC evaporator fixed right now. So I have not bolted dash bezel and other accoutrements on yet to dash pad. I do like the lifetime warranty from dashed direct though

Re: The dash pad matrix...who makes the best?

Called USA Industries today to order my dash pad kit for my 87 and was told there`s a 16 or more week wait... Any advise? Cheyenne parts shows sold out also.

It is. But I say USA1 is worth the wait. My buddy has one, and it looks awesome. I have their door panels and LOVE THEM! I waited 4 months for those, and that was before all this backordered stuff happened. I got them late 2018
