Re: Glock's new project: "Fred"

damn... this is ridiculous. ive watched that little 11 sec. video probably at least 10 times.

might as well get this out in the open... i'm super jealous and my arms are turning green. i wish i would have kept mine together like you did and not insist on taking her ALL APART! after i watched your video the 1st time i went for a ride around the block and ate up AT LEAST $100 worth of tires just to get my head right!

So, your GTO can do that? I bet it can do it a little easier than Fred can.

There is nothing wrong with being a pirate. You look to have 2 legs, until you have to get going. Then it is so obvious that there is only one moving you along. Oh, well. I can't say much, mine wont even burn one up. Well it would if I wanted to get brutal on my clutch and u joints. But I don't chance it anymore. That is how I blew up the 10 bolt.

Re: Glock's new project: "Fred"

That's awesome Bob. Fred looks good. I knew Gerald would get to you about taking it lower. It sounds awesome in the video too, along with the side commentator saying "whoa, and a chuckle" That makes it all worthwhile.

Re: Glock's new project: "Fred"

LOL Dennis! Didn't mean to get to your wallet!!

John, no one got to me about the lower thang. I wanted the rear a little lower ever since I got the truck and cut one coil out of the front. I was going to during the engine swap, but I never soaked the u-bolts long enough and they didn't want to budge. I started soaking them early and often and they came apart easy this time. Which was a good thing, because the 91's u-bolts were waaaaay too long so I HAD to get the original ones off.

But it's probably not going any lower than it is now. If anything, maybe a half coil in the front, and the second leaf that I put back in. I would have left that one out, but I didn't have time (or the desire at that point) to pull the front springs out. But since the oil pan hangs below the cross member, I can't go too low......

I absolutely LOVE the sound of the truck now that I have the tailpipes and the big tips on. It sounds fricking mean in side the cab!

Re: Glock's new project: "Fred"

I was just giving you a hard time on the lowering part. I just remember you saying you weren't going too low, but I know how friends can be a "bad" influence on you. Kind of like you with the LS swap.

Yeah from the video it does sound sweet in the cab. You should take a video of a drive by. So we can see what Fred sounds like cruising around.

I'll have to figure out a place to do that. I'm out in the sticks, so there isn't any "side streets" to speak of. Well, there are, but they are all gravel.

Bob, I hope you plan a demo drive for me when I come out there Wednesday. I do want a ride, really. Well, maybe that is a bad idea. Then I will really hate how slow my truck is.
