Blazer looks amazing! Great work all the way around, the color is eye catching, the details are great and it looks extremely solid... Enjoy it!!!

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...

I've been enjoying driving it. Even entered it in a car show. Didn't win a trophy but did win a set of tools. I got the garage done and moved in, should have built a bigger one, lol. I already have plans of a lean to and an addition to the rear. A big thanks goes out to my family that came out and poured and finished the concrete for me. Saved me a fortune. The blazer still isn't finished of course but that is what winter is for. I want to make some windshield frame braces, side steps, upholster the panels, put in some kind of rubber floor (probably the pvc one from lmc), exhaust system, and a heater. I need to put on the correct oil pan too, its slightly riding the crossmember right now.

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...

I've been puttin' around in the blazer this summer, good times. I noticed a vibration in the rearend. Turns out the yoke has worn out cup that the ujoint sits in. I can slide the driveshaft up and down in the yoke, pretty sure thats whats causing the vibration. So I will be replacing the yoke in the next week or so.
I entered the blazer in a car show last weekend. My wife came with, we had a good time. Placed in the top 20 of the show and yes there were more then 20 in the show. It was out of a 100 or so. Heres some pics.

Your Blazer has a clean look, I love that. I really like the chrome trim on the wheel edges. Where did you pick those up at? I looked in your thread, but couldn't find the info.

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...

Bad news. It was nice the other night and I haven't had it out since summer. I drove it to work and on the way home a nice big doe ran out and hit me. It was a hit and run on both accounts. We both kept going, lol. I was going to tackle it but decided it will go back to the body shop for a fix. Not cheap but it will involve blending and what not so all that is beyond me. I hope it all matches up when done. I will possibly go crazy if it doesn't turn out right so be prepared, . It pushed it in nicely as you can see when comparing the two pics.

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...

Looks like its going to the bodyshop in the next couple weeks. So thats good, gotta have it back on the road for when it gets warm. I did start tinkering with it, trying to get my backup lights working, what a pain in the butt. Not having any luck tracing the problem. Might need to call in backup on this one, lol.

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...

I still haven't got the Blazer in the bodyshop. I did get the bedside straightened out and stripped. Never thought I'd see bare metal on it again. Got the backup lights fixed too. Hopefully will make it in the bodyshop this weekend.

Back from the body man. Turned out nice so I didn't have a breakdown, lol. Found the annoying vibration in the drivetrain too. The upper u joint on the rear drive shaft had lost all it bearings.

Heres a couple from a local car show.
