Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
Thanks DW
I cant wait to get this bed painted. I bet I have 100+ hours in the Bed door fabrication. Nice to see all the work come together though.... I am ordering my bed floor kit this week. Smokey Road Rod Shop Looking at the Montana Dark or Saddle color with stainless steel slats and hidden fasteners. Possibly this logo on the vertical portion of the box in the bed facing the tailgate.

Way to go! Frank and Rhonda do a great job. As you know I did their drop-in on my '70 K10 because I didn't want to remove the bed floor. My next build will be the conventional style like you're doing. Can't wait to see it.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
Thanks Dan, Yes they are great to talk with. You are the reason I am going with them. I do have to fabricate a corner edge cap for the box where the floor goes vertical and then back to horizontal. I think I will make a small thin Stainless Steel cap

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
We have been working a lot of hours of sanding and sanding and more sanding.
Finally able to get the box on the frame today. Now just need some tailgate adjusting and I think it’s ready for paint. Hopefully by the end of next week.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
I pulled the front end of the truck apart so I could relocate the alternator and drill and pin the crank for the supercharger!

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
To relocate the alternator I had to drill a hole in the block were the truck blocks aren’t taped.
I ordered a ictbillet bracket. Also installed the PS pump and supercharger bracket.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB
Thank you. I had to re-clock my brand new power master alternator. Which involves tearing it down to remove the stator so the post for the battery cable is in the correct location and not hitting the crossmember. Crazy all the little things that take customizing.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
Here is the stator in the freezer that I left over night and the front half in the oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes.
After it’s hot I will drop the stator in and set the depth and let it all come to room temperature and that will keep them in place.

Looking good. Used that same trick to get the reluctor ring on the output shaft of my 4l60e. Output shaft in the freezer and heated up the ring. Slid right on.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
Thanks Guys....... I will never get this truck finished if i keep the crazy a$$ stuff up!!
Today I install the Russell performance fitting I ordered so I can finish the Power steering lines up. I was able to get the front accessory drive finished so just need the PS fitting so I can start the truck to make sure belt tracks like it should and no leaks. Then on to the Supercharger!!!

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
Hey guys! well 1 step forward 2 steps back. I was able to get the front accessory drive completed and running, but when I went to install the drive belt on the supercharger the 8 rib belt touches the water pump pulley. I guess I have to change to a 2010-2015 Camaro water pump due to the domed pulley on a truck water pump. See picture.
so I ordered a new ACDelco pump and it comes in today. I will have to change the belt tensioner and idler pulley because the truck water pump and the Camaro water pump have different accessory mounts. Oh and I am sure the belt itself will have to to be changed due to needing a different length. More to come....

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
I knew that most supercharger drives required the Camaro/Corvette setup. Did not know the belt rides in the same place with the Camaro/Corvette pump. Just a shorter pump and slimmer pulley. Good deal you do not have to change other accessories and pulleys. Hope the idler and WP pulley are the same size so the belt works.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
I added the correct length flanged bolts, torqued to spec and was able to start the motor. Man that Supercharger has a nice whine....OK back to the update...
The belts tracked nice but I didn't get to rev it up since I don't have an upper radiator hose (SS parts on order) and didn't want to run it too long. I started working on the new shorter but taller AC condenser. I made all aluminum brackets for the condenser and picked up more aluminum for the inner cooler mounts. Hopefully I can get the inner cooler brackets built this weekend and start the intake tubing.

Very nice. I like the aluminum brackets. Nerve racking drilling painted surfaces.... Usually goes fine with tape but still, there is always that chance lol.
