Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck

it probably was built using a later model year block with a one piece rear seal which in turn would have a different flywheel flange than the older small block.

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck

Was one pan or the other an aftermarket reproduction pan? I'm guessing the one on your 383 is? Can you tell how much off it is? You should probably shoot for an 1/8" clearance to be safe

Good lord, you better call and see what the heck they are using for a pan! I have seen deep sump pans but usually the front portion is not that much lower. Pictures?

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck

I actually had Nate make me some engine mounts to LOWER the motor in my dropmember. It is the touring version not the extreme.

After

Your motor appears to be moved forward compared to mine quite a bit too. Have you called Nate?

We text back and forth a few times last night. My recommendation was to go to a shallow pan like the 327 had.

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck

Did u use regular rivets to hold all this cool fab work together? Are those tweeter speakers in the door panels? Can u show a close up of those and how you did it?

The rivets area race car deal... Allstar Performance exploding rivets no backer needed

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck

It changes every year. Usually where ever I can find a spot. Last year I was able to squeeze in by grumpy over near the pavilions on Friday and in the judged section on Saturday. I'll post on here where I find a spot to cram it.

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck

I was thinking that your 383 is built with the later model one piece rear main seal block. I assume that is the main reason the 327 flywheel wouldn't bolt up. If that is the case, then the 327 oil pan will not fit the later model block with the one piece rear main seal. You will also need to be sure a different pan will have enough clearance for the 3.75" stroke.

Today I'm in the homebuilt haulers section of the special feature area. Wanted to park close to the spectator parking so my friends don't have to walk 20 miles back to the cars after the show.

I agree with Captain Fab, I'm not sure that's going to work. Maybe a stock pan from a Camaro would work?

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck

Good Afternoon
This is Tiffany, Kart's daughter.

He asked to post an update. Unfortunately, today the update is not about the C-10.
Greg, you may know him as kart34, was admitted to the hospital last Monday evening after going in with a severe headache, fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes.
After blood tests it was confirmed that he has Leukemia. He will be admitted for 4 weeks.

Greg has been receiving 24 hour chemotherapy treatments and is responding very well. His last treatment will be on Wednesday. He is a good patient and let me tell you the staff really loves him there. Greg has been feeling well on the chemo with little to NO side effects. He is also receiving blood transfusions to keep his counts up.

He is at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse WI.

Prayers and cards are appreciated, no plants or fruits as they carry microorganisms and can be harmful.
