Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

Nice work. It is so nice to see old school customizing is still alive and well. Much nicer than the cowl hood bolt on that that is so popular. The rise in the front is also a throw back to the 67/72 style hood. I wonder if my brother would miss the hood on his HD.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

I haven't been that active on here in a bit since I sold my 84 K25, but I picked up this rust free 91 C2500 for $800 tonight… Not going to do to much to it till spring gets here, but it is going for safety next tuesday, doesn't need much thou…

Plans are to lower it, swap the 305 out, and paint it the original colours eventually…

I haven't been on here lately. I sold my blue '90 gmc swb. This is my new daily driver '97 Chevy Z71 swb. I've only had it a few days but I'm digging it so far.

I dig the Sidewinders. I'll never understand why wheel companies discontinue the best wheels they offer to make way for flavor of the week crap. Outbacks and Sidewinders are wheels that stand the test of time and look just right on a truck...strong and stout, not frail like they belong on a Porche. same with M/T. They discontinued the Challengers and whatever the 5-spoke star type wheels they offered. Even Alcoa duallies are discontinued. They are the 1t version of the real thing found on big trucks...WTH?

Anyway, since there is no picture sticky for Suburbans and mine is certainly a truck, here is the most non-descript boring vehicle I have ever owned . It's an ex-police K-9 unit from Cobb County GA's Sheriff Dept. Used to haul Bloodhunds for manhunts and search & rescue. Plain Jane, 350/4L80E, 4.10, skid plates, hydroboost, full-floating rear. I have plans but here it is as I bought it in December and how it is yet. so far i've cranked the torsion bars a bit, dual exhaust, and privacy tint. I'm ready to install the 255/85s on Accuride wheels from my former GMC. Been waiting for chevy caps that are on their way:

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

My $400 purchase. After some extensive cleaning, tracking down center caps, and throwing a set of free used Hankooks on the truck. It was dirty beyond beliefs, had a busted 90 gmc grill, so I put a Chevy one in it with new headlights, found a guy on Craig'slist with a red gmc one, we made the trade everyone's happy. Short story. Here's my project

Front and back are home made. My insurance company probably finds it odd that they have seen 3 accident reports and my truck never has any damage

I think I would find that bumper intimidating if it was tailgating me.
