Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

Not to spam, I've just got tons of pics of my truck in various states of being/configurations, locations, weather, etc. Been through a lot and been a lot of places and hauled a lot.

Somebody hitching a ride...

Using the winch and snatch block to try and move a chunk/section of tree that had fallen on and smashed my grandma's shed after a storm.

The odd winter I used mudding tires. I hated that look, won't do it again.

Pushed my luck on this road with those balloon mud tires with lack of weight in the back, ran out of momentum. A few minutes later a fellow Bowtie 4x4 dually gave me a tug outta the drift.

Friend's farm in Illinois.

Near the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Still need to make it to the Santa Monica pier and desert southwest. One day...

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

Hey pigrig did you know there is a guy here in ks that used a pic of your dually in his craigslist ad for a slammed 1975 dually. He bought it for $2k and is trying to resell it for $4k but with your pic. Its not even close in comparison. Lol

http://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/1618755545.html

here is the actual dually...

He wants too much but I plan to fix that though with only a few greenbacks.
It's a 2wd 1979 c20 with a 350 and he's not sure about the tranny. Actually he wasn't very sure about anything. other then it's been sitting for a very long time and I started it (holy exhaust!) and runs but the brakes don't work. The pedal just goes straight to the floor.

This is a totally different truck then the other 2 cheap ones I told you about. Those don't have engines or trans. one is a 83 dually and the other an 81 suburban. (no pics)

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

I have a '87 Crew cab...... but I'm not computer savy so I'll have to work at getting the pics on here. Nothing special about it. 2wd, no opptions at all. Not even vents in the dash, no A/C, and only idiot lights in the little four guage cluster. But I like my Truck.

Here's my 76 crew. When I got it last year, it was a 2 wheel drive 3/4 ton with a Th400 transmission, 4:11 gears and a nice 454. I converted it to 4 wheel drive, and swapped the TH400 for an NV4500 out of a 2003 Duramax. Soon, I hope to have new paint and I'm thinking about adding fuel injection. TBI maybe? LOTS of good looking trucks on here. Thanks for posting guys! A picture of my truck was actually posted earlier by ghettoluxury. I was thinking, hey, that looks just like my truck. And that looks just like my shop!

Details! I would love to have a 4x4 crew, but the one I picked up is 2x. The engine is out so now is the time for a 4x4 swap.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

grandfisher, nice truck! But the NV4500 never came with the Duramax. Its must have been swapped in, or you put a ZF tranny in.

You're right. The guy I bought the NV4500 from said it came out of an 2003 Duramax HD3500. I didn't question him. But it's definitely an NV4500. It might have been swapped in. Thanks for pointing that out!
