Hey mike, it sure is going to be nice someday to cruise around in these trucks someday all Finished with a nice shinny paint job, I'm sure you'll really appreciate it with all the work you have put in.

Thanks James, I am plugging away at the bodywork. I think I'm going to win this war eventually, sometimes I lose little battles along the way that help me learn.

I went out to Mike's last night and he has done an awesome job on the doors. He replaced a bunch of metal in both doors and they look perfect. I wish I had his attention to detail and his patience. His build my take longer than some, but it will be worth the wait.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here and my friends that checked on us. I want to thank you for offers to help. It means a lot to me. It has been a very rough week for us here. I just wanted to share some pictures of what we have been deal with.

I know you guys have all seen the damage in Moore so you know what these things are capable of. My thoughts go out to the people that lost family members and friends.

In the pictures, My Mother and Father-in law had their roof nearly taken off and a huge pecan tree fell on their house. My Sister in-law lost her mobile home and the other pics are of trees in my drive way.
We sustained a lot of hail damage and approxemately 15 trees were either broken off or blown over.

These pictures are from damage from Sunday the 19th

Wow... Glad your home was spared from the worst of it. It is really unbelievable what a tornado can do... Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Hey Mike,
I'm so glad that you didn't get the worst of it! My family up in OKC faired pretty well with just a lot of rain and some hail. My heart still goes out to those in Moore where it hit them pretty hard!
Last week, we had a group of tornados go through North Texas and lightning hit a tree next to the house and took out the big screen and most of the other electonic stuff!

Re: 1969 Short Wide

sorry for your in-laws, particularly loosing an entire home. That must be frightening at times to live in a trailer in tornado alley. glad to see you weathered the storm fairly well.

my heart goes out to the families that didn't.

Mike, I'm glad you guys are alright. Sorry to see the destruction. Good thing no one was home at the trailer. That wouldn't be good at all.

Thanks, It is truly hard to believe the forces produced by these twisters. I have seen some crazy things.

Thanks Ryan, yes we all evacuated. I personally waited a little too long but I did beat the twister by seconds. We will have our own cellar soon.

Thanks Raul. We did have a few minutes to get out. We cut it close but are happy to have missed it. Unfortunately, this isn't our first rodeo. Our bother and sister in-law lost everything they had in the 2010 twister. It tracked 1 mile north from my house. This one came 1/2 mile south of my house. Just a matter of when and not if.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Here are some pics of the door before filler and primer. I forgot to take pictures so these are kinda old.
Just an FYI, I have exactly 21 doors and the two I used were the best ones.

Thanks Kyle, I will need all the help I can get from you when it comes time to shoot some color on this thing. My last experience with base/clear didn't turn out too good. I'm now leaning towards buying some of your high$$ base paint now.

Thanks Keith. I only wish I wasn't so slow at doing the bodywork. Some might say I'm meticulous......I say I just suck at shaping metal and mud. My work ethic is suspect too
