Bring that stubborn bolt down here. I'll get it out. What grade hardware are you using?

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
I'm not old school in the sense of suspension so in that case I would highly recommend drop spindles not springs becaus from what I've heard throughout my time on the boat is that the closer your springs are to stock height the better ride you will experience. Yes they are pricey but 200-225$ well spent in front when you do so. As for the back possibly adding blocks to the arms could help and since you aren't going too far drop shocks won't be needed an adjustable trac bar might be in need tho so you don't dog walk all over town

and for more bad news... yesterday my alternator dumped on me I had to get 6 jump starts to get home! so I figured you know what? if its going be down because the alternator then I might as well do the harmonic balancer swap since I got the tools yesterday. so I tore into the 302 and inspected the harmonic balancer from it and it looks good! should be a nice tight seal! here's a pic of it installed with the bottom pulley's on as well. didn't get much done after that so when I go home today im going to put the water pump pulley, fan, belts and shroud back on. after that's done then im going to try to get the bolt out of the ram horn and then get the ram horn bolted back on the truck. after that ill need to go buy a new alternator and then I should be back on the road! today I drove the 4x to school. |

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
Rick, If I remember correctly that bolt is a 3/8"-16 so the proper drill size is 5/16". You probably don't have one but I use left hand drill bits and more than half the time the bit will grab it and spin it out. I guess it's something to do with the combo of heat and vibration. Sure is nice when it works though

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
Well looks like you guys don't actually want this truck to be lowered haha. And I must say this weekend has been the most productive and screwed up weekend ever.

I think a mild lowering would look Really good. My 67 is getting a altitude adjustment soon.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
I was thinking the same. And the only reason why I'm wanting to do it is because with the truck a little lower the more "autocrossy" it can be faster corners and better donuts and stuff. Lol I just want the truck to have some performance in her. I want to know it's there when ever I want it.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
You can do whatever you want to your truck. Doesn't hurt to know if you like it or not and you can always reverse back. I think your truck looks good as is. I personally appreciate them more stock height. But trust I have had in on my mind to to lower it. I been there done that with my past cars/trucks. But to much problems when you lower them.
