You should have gone to Ireland instead. Maybe you would have ended up in a cemetery kissing in a thunderstorm

I sold my Jeep today.

Thinning down the herd. I never drove it. Now I'm down to 6 vehicles not counting my motorhome.

You know a buyer is serious when they show up with a trailer and cash. And no B.S.

The guy asked me if I was a rock star or something. I'm not kidding. He really did.

He's obviously never heard me play.

The door's always open and the beer is always cold.

The only drawback is that you will have to listen to my dumb jokes.

Truck related surprise!
Reinstalled the NV4500 in the 72 today after its rebuild. Came in afterwards and realized I left the phone in the shed so I ran back out to grab it and found a 5 foot black snake guarding the work bench. Good laugh for us that live in the country.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Got the Dodge differential done yesterday . Not an easy job wrestling a 11.5 AAM on the ground by yourself . The rear I put in looked like new down to the rotors . But I test drove it and had a terrible shimmy when I hit the brakes . Ended up being the rotor but I changed out the axle . Think they bent it taking it out so if the dropped it hard enough to bend it didn't trust the axle either.

Okay, I was just confused how dropping a full float could bend the axle shaft?

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Wife had the day off so I took the day off as well. We hiked to a waterfall we have never been to before, went to the gun range for a bit and then had lunch. After lunch we played a round of golf. Tired but it was a good day.

Picked up a knee scooter to ease the pressure off my post-surgical foot. Stitches come out Thursday. $50 off CL, barely used. Now I need to paint some flames on it so it'll go fast.

Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish. Was going to use it with their powerball but I wasn't paying $27 for it, so I bought "polishing" cloth and did it by hand.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Found my valve noise on the 496 in my Chevelle #6 exhaust valve lock nut was loose causing the adjuster to back off . Only thing that stopped it from coming off it hit the valve cover. Cam looked perfect so I adjusted all the valves started her and no more clacking. Little strange as the motor was broke in on a dyno ran flawlessly.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

What did I do today?

I thought about cleaning the surface rust on my truck. Didn't do it.

I thought about working on my Packard. Didn't do that either.

I thought about cleaning my garage..Eh..No.

I thought about making my wife a really nice dinner. Then I ordered a pizza.

Then I thought about taking a nap...That one worked.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Was troubleshooting the salt cell on my swimming pool as I thought the flow switch was out. Installed a new switch but still not showing flow. In my further troubleshooting there were some sparks involved and now the cell is dead. Oh well, I had checked it and it was at 80%+ life expended so I came in an ordered a new one. Was just hoping to put that off until later in the summer. They only last 4-5 years and this was was on year 5.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

i hauled my homemade trailer and Dodge truck from storage after being inside all winter.i had a few things to do to the trailer such as service the trailer hubs & brakes, check the lights, get my my new weight distributing hitch ready,a coat of paint and the truck also needed some TLC.i wanted to be ready to hit the road, whenever it is that the border restrictions are lifted and i can drive to the Maine/New Brunswick to finally get my hands on my 72 Cheyenne Super 20 big block truck that i bought last year in Utah but couldn't go get it with the covid mess and the border shutdown.the truck had made it,by car carrier, to the Canada/US border in Maine a week or two ago, where it waits some more for me.the border right here between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick is closed as well as the Canada/US border but we're hopeful that in the next week or so,the travel restrictions will be lifted and i can finally go get my old truck and bring her home.

Golf cart weekend this weekend. Removed all the batteries and purchased a new set. They were six years old so it was time. Cleaned up the battery support frame, painted, installed new batteries and cables. Cart is ready for another six years I hope.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Never in a million years would I thought I’d be wet sanding and buffing out a 2005 Accord . My daughters neighbor decided he was going to paint his fence . Pressure washed a few weeks ago no problems . He then rented a sprayer well wind and oil based primer isn’t a good thing and the fact the fence is along the driveway he sprayed right though it . Car has overspray all over it . I wet sanded the whole car then hit it with a rotary then a orbital . Finished the hood and the front fenders today .
