I have the factory water neck, pictured in the previous pic., seems the outlet angle is wrong, as well as the size( 1 1/4" od ) I would be interested in the regulator, dependind on price, wouldnt want to get my thread locked by turning this into a WTB

I told you in PM it had funky screws. I ended up buying a kit from autozone that had about 30 different bits in it, just to get that one.

Re: PO has me PO'd
Well, not really...been laid up for a couple weeks with a banged up ankle!
Got the fuel regulater mounted in the fuel rail, so that part just needs the gauge. Waiting on a couple thousand to come in to buy my FAST XFI system, then i should have lots to do. Right now im just plugging away at little stuff to keep busy, feels good to be able to stand up again ![]() Guys over at. ............have been really helpful, making sure i dont buy the wrong part or something i dont need. This really helps when you have no idea what your doing! My main problem is the PCV system. Bought the valve yesterday to put in the vc, but that is all i know of the stock system. Dunno where it gets plugged into the plenum....searched and searched, read and read, but cant find any actual pictures of what the system looks like. Found some diagrams, so i know where it goes, just not how it actually hooks up with the fittings and size of vacuum lines...ill keep searching, i know the info is out there, maybe buy an old assembly manual for an '85 corvette Been meanin' to post up on your build thread to see what youre up to...i know you made progress Thanks for lookin

Re: PO has me PO'd
I think the pvc plugs into the left side of the intake, down lown between the two pairs of runners.
Then you have the "vent tube" connect to pass side of the TB. If you need any diagrams, pics, or have questions. Give me a pm, Ive had a TPI for about 5 years now and had it ripped down plenty of times for mods. |

Re: PO has me PO'd
left hose size, I cant read, but it looks to be 3/8 or 1/2. The threaded fitting on the left side, make sure you use blue loctight, I had mine come loose and caused some funny idling.
right hose, no size marking at all. I guess 5/8. I am using vette heads 113, vette base intake(this hole is same on camaro though), and vette valve covers. Also, on your thermostat housing. Does what you have just need to be clocked different? I have the tools to heliarc (sp?) aluminum. I'm not that good, but if thats all you need done, I would give it a try. |

Re: PO has me PO'd
I was looking back thru your pics. I see thats not a stock base, which one is it and I will try to find pics of it.
I also see you have a vette fuel rail. |

The baseplate was made by scroggins dickey for the vortec heads, then they allowed edelbrock to make them The fitting that goes into the baseplate, i thought that was part of the EGR, so, i will go back and look again. A threaded hole is in that location, so that is a good start. I hope ir is not part of the EGR, since my heads have not been opened up for that....worst case scenerio, pull heads and machine I may take you up on your welding skills, let me look and see if clocking will solve the alignment issue. Its cast aluminum, dont know if you can heliarc that.... And yes on the vette fuel rail Thanks again for your help, may have more questions

Re: PO has me PO'd
ok looked up that intake....
http://image.gmhightechperformance.c...m_manifold.jpg The ellipse hole next to the runner openings, thats your EGR tube. The next opening to the rear, that is your egr threaded port. IIRC its 1/2npt. My first heliarc project was my vette base intake that I made a fubar on ![]() |

No hurry on the welding, because i think it has to be angled and clocked, plus the od is 1 1/4" and i need a 1 1/2", so it may be off to the aftermarket store

Re: PO has me PO'd
No egr is fine. I'm not running one on mine from the factory intake, cause my heads arnt either. You will still need to run a block off plate on the right rear if no EGR is being used.
That round hole should still be open and threaded. |

Re: PO has me PO'd
They wanted 50 bucks for this piece in billet, since you dont really see it, i thought what the...., so, i cut most of it off on the bandsaw, then a little rough trim with the dremel. Some more filing and sandblast
I dont live in alaska, so the heated water jacket does me no good A couple more days and i get to order my F.A.S.T. XFI ![]() 20121025_105334 by jarosaj, on Flickr ![]() 20121025_122502 by jarosaj, on Flickr ![]() 20121025_130340 by jarosaj, on Flickr

Re: PO has me PO'd
Relocated my pcv valve to the rear of the aftermarket vc, more direct line to the intake. Bored hole out to 15/16" using a deming drill ( reduced shank to fit in my 1/2" chuck). Bit of a struggle to get the grommet over both pieces, since vc was thicker then oem.
Next will drill both pieces, oem diffuser and vc, and use a countersunk pop rivet to hold in place. Grommet alone holds well, but i dont want to take the chance and have it rotate with vibrations ![]() 20121031_130644 by jarosaj, on Flickr

Re: PO has me PO'd
My coil is not normal. Normal is on the passenger side of the intake, bracket bolted to the left 2 rear bolts.
like this if the link will work. http://s3.beta.photobucket.com/user/paulo57509/media/camaro/coilbracket-mod.jpg.html?filters[term]=recent&filters[primary]=images Last edited by Dale99; 11-02-2012 at 02:28 PM. |

Re: PO has me PO'd
there we go. Thats the coil on the left of the pic, thats cut off. There is a "z" bracket that bolts to the intake. Then you have an L shapped bracket that the coil bolts to, that sits on the z bracket.
I dont even have that stuff to assemble and snap pics of for you. |

Thanks, thats a start....wonder if gm might still have that stuff. I have a MSD coil, so i will have to modify it anyway
Thank you for your time ![]()

Re: PO has me PO'd
which msd coil? They make a "oem replacement" one, which is what I'm running. Its just not in the stock location.
Found a pic of my setup from a few years ago online. Coil is still in this location, but everything else is different. https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot..._7371417_n.jpg |
