Re: off it goes
Are you using an old compressed door seal (with the latch too) to keep the doors in the correct shut position while your doing the blocking?

Re: off it goes
I agree, this area never looks right. The other one is the body line from cab to bed. For some reason the sharp line on the cab goes away right before the bed. These look great in the pic as well. Very nice! |

all the NOS door rubbers and latches are in for this, we will be putting all the NOS molding on the truck as well before we paint just to make sure it fits right

Sharp line on the cab, and left the seam.
Like it.

Re: off it goes
sharp line will be knocked down to look more factory, just not done yet. Definitely left the roof seam, to fill that seam properly requires removing the inner roof panel and didn't want to get in to that.

Re: off it goes
I started to fill it, my 73 had lead or something that kept catching on fire. So the b pillar got filled and rear was left alone, looks terrible

Re: off it goes
yeh most guys just think they can fill it in with weld....but what they forget is that there is a bonding agent in there from the factory that reacts when you try to weld. The only proper way is to remove the inner structure in the cab to get to it, which I didn't want to do, plus I like the factory look of the line...

I absolutely love this. I have a roll of this metal fabric I was making mini wood grills with. This opened my eyes to new possibilities.

Re: off it goes
Looking very nice as always. Why the tape and paper in the recessed panels in the back of the cab? To help keep the lines?

Thanks for the compliments guys.......paper is in the recessed area because we don't want the filler primer in there, too much work to block those areas that aren't necessary . |

Re: off it goes
I like the squared off corners on the back of the cab. Are you leaving that way or going to re-radius that area?
