Thanks Brother, I have seen Keith use that stuff on all of his trucks and he swears by it so we will see how it turns out.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super Plain Jane

Started reassembly. Forgot to take pics of the motor out of the truck but we got all the new parts installed and the motor dropped back in. Also got to lay some color today. Hopefully getting most of the assembly done this week

Yea the old man is pretty sharp, I could not have done this build without him. I am gaining on this one, after all of these years I can't shake the "while I'm here I might as well...." syndrome. I ended up re-routing a ton of wires, making some pieces to clean up under the hood, replacing some parts just because they were ugly, powdercoating about a million small pieces that typically don't get powdercoated, and buying a lot of crap I already had just to make it look better. Either way I am about a week from getting her finished and tuned up with the new cam. I will posted a video this weekend of the new sound once we get her dialed. Stay tuned

Hate on missed you Friday at RTTS. I had it on my notes to call you but I was in such a rush to see everything in one day I forgot. Big turnout, did you a car count for Saturday?

I feel your pain. I'm going to tear my truck apart in a bit to clean things up because I'm taking it to Carlisle in August. I'm trying to decide when enough is enough since I'll be building a crew next year.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super Plain Jane

That looks really nice! Do you have some wheel tubs or inner fenders for it yet?

Thanks guys, no wheel tubs yet Ryan. I am going to end up with Hills Rod and Custom wheel tubs which require cutting the fender up but I have no choice with the ride height I have in the front.

What are the deminsions of the firewall cover on you fuse block wires? What’s it made out of? How’s it attached if you don’t mind sharing. Very nice

I'll have to pull some measurements the next time I am over at the shop. I just took a piece of sheet metal and cut it out, broke the corners, welded it up, and painted it. For the mounting I took two long skinny bolts and welded them to the inside edge, drilled two holes in my firewall and ran a nut on the studs from the drivers side of the firewall. I have another picture of the cover I'll post, it's a little easier to see the shape

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super Plain Jane

This was my first take, I didn’t like how boxy it was so I ended up stepping the corners.

Awesome idea. Did you use a metal brake, or just hammer it out? Thanks for sharing your info.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super Plain Jane

What a difference. The big eye sore improvement is the gutter wiring no longer there. Never did like how the factory did that. So do you still have to run heater hoses or is that like a delete?
