Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
It's The Vintiques Northwest Nationals in Yakima this coming weekend Aug 4/7 but they have a pancake feed for the participants on Sunday Morning the 7th and then have the awards in the Sundome at about 10 or so and at noon the grounds are empty.
They put on a pretty good show that is open up to year model 72. The offshoot of that is you start seeing adds for old vehicles and parts on Craigslist and FB market place show up and there is an element around here who thinks that sticking big gaudy and often ugly wheels on old cars multiplies the value about 4 times over. And you haven't seen gaudy and ugly until you hit some of the tire stores around here that tend to specialize in big rims and they are nothing like Coys. It's usually a great show for participants and spectators but the 100 plus heat may cut numbers along with Hot August nights starting at the same time. They used to get a big contingent from BC and Alberta many who headed on to Hot August Nights the next weekend but now they Bypass Yakima for Reno.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
Amazing a bit of snooping shows that they have had the truck at least three years.
It appears to be a pretty well stock truck with maybe a split manifold and stacks. I'm going to assume that the local spit and whittle club experts told her it was worth 25 K and leave it at that.

This one is a pretty nice truck but the add has been up locally for ten weeks. Maybe the Southern California price in central Washington but it is a pretty nice truck when you look at it. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...type=top_picks

I don't know why I always want one of these when I see one. Ten thousand with no engine or transmission does seem a little high, but it looks like it's in much better condition than most of the others that I've seen advertised. I don't see any serious rust on it at all. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...type=top_picks

Seeing a real uptick in those selling "projects". I think it would be beyond wise to look at online parts suppliers and labor costs before beginning ANY restoration/repair project. Unless wealthy the time has passed for most of us even when you can do the work yourself. Please tell me I'm wrong.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
A metro van just like that except it had an equally badly deterioated white paint job sat in someone's driveway on Washington Avenue in Yakima for years until it disappeared one day. I don't remember there being too many of them around this area when they were new. The ones that were around seemed too belong to bigger companies with outlets in a lot of cities. Could be like a lot of corporate rigs now, they get shipped back to a single point to be auctioned off when the company rotates them out.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
two years ago i found my brother a 41 metro (last year of teardrop headlights!) with a roll up door in the back. he could probably sell in this market for 6-8x what he paid but instead he bought an envoy to do a chassis swap with. he is an international 5 star salesman, so he has like 3-4 internationals including a 59 b100 i also found him (the brown one on the left in the 3rd pic) and a 57 b60? two ton that runs and drives.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
It's a bit pricy for this area for what it actually is. Simply meaning that it isn't detailed out enough to have the Bomb lowrider brigade here fork over the money for what it is trying to be. We have a huge Lowrider faction in this area but on an old Bomba truck they want what they would expect out of East La as far as detail. They do have some nice ones too.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
47 panel truck shell with beat up rear fenders and little else but the price is 300 bucks.
Listed as a 53 but no water channel on the cowl means 47. Pretty rough but it is in CleElum Wa Next to Roslyn Wa and not all that far from Leavenworth Wa so it wouldn't be that hard to convince your significant other to do a road trip and a mini vacation. Photos are dark and not great though. I'd buy it but don't have the extra cash even though I could set it on my old frame. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...type=top_picks

1949? chassis
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...8-a3982f0d04e0
Located in NC. I went to buy this truck and chassis (project/all in parts) and this guy beat me there by 30 minutes. This chassis is in amazing shape. The cab mount is still a cab mount. The metal for the running boards is just about perfect. The only issue is the previous owner did something "hoo-doo-ey" with the rear springs. I think it was an attempt to lower the truck with what was there. Other than that it is as complete as one would want. Not selling parts for this guy but just putting a solid chassis out here if someone were looking. I'm still looking for a truck, but if I had a truck and were going to go stock, switching to cab to a re-built-ready to go factory chassis is a lot easier than any of the swap ideas. If this is not allowed. Please delete. Scott |

Re: Post your C/L - Facebook finds for everyone to enjoy!
I'm thnking what you saw are the bolt on overload springs that were either a factory or dealer installed option that about 75% of these trucks had at one time or another.
That really is a nice GMC long wheelbase 1/2 frame for someone wanting to replace a hacked up frame or botched frame swap with a real frame. It is the same frame that I have for my stretched cab 48 buld. This being my frame.

Thanks for the info. I have never seen a spring set up like that before.
It is in incredible shape. Hopefully someone can use it before it gets scrapped. Scott Quote:

I'd say that any of who have been at this for long enough have had Scott 123's experience.

It is disheartening and downright discouraging to show up where an item is being offered only to find it sold only moments earlier. More so when you have cash in hand and guy before you has to leave to go an atm.
