Stop, just stop...if this gets any better I won't be able to stand it.

Really, this is looking so good. You gotta be proud of how this is turning out but you know the time and effort it has taken.

Re: Columbus..the 1957 IH 4x4..

lessons learned..
well this is confession time....what happens when you don't do something right the1st time?..you get to do it over ..that's what..
yep...I got to repaint all my previously painted pieces....when I started trying to wetsand the painted parts ,the orange peel really started looking bad...way worse than it did before sanding...the more I sanded the worse it looked....1500g was a waste of time...600g would wear you out just on one panel..so I dropped down to 400g...and it still wasnt easy ..but I got it all out...
that led to repaint because I started getting into primer..
I was advised my gun pressure was to low..so I cranked it up to 29psi..WOW..what a difference ...the paint went on almost smooth as glass..a huge improvement from before
I havnt wet sanded anything yet but it looks so much better than it did...if it wasn't for the nibs, id almost let it go like it is..
I also found out not to use easy flow filters in my boxes..the concrete in front of the shop has red streaks across it where the fans were blowing.
lessons learned..

Sounds like everything I do! Like Russ says - if there’s a problem I can have it. That’s the ****s but the good news is it’s just a little more work and the project will be even more awesome! You do great work to start with and aren’t afraid to do work over if it’s not right. I can’t wait to see this finished up!

Re: Columbus..the 1957 IH 4x4..

Well, tonite was supposed to be "paint the front end " night..
I still had all the bed parts in the booth, so I opened the end up to move all that out, and moved in the hood, front fenders, and radiator/grill piece..got it all in and closed the booth back up, and holy cow,, I think every bug in north Alabama flew in the booth...so I put the portable lights in my filter boxes with no filters, and turned the fans on,and turned out the shop lights..hoping the bugs would go to the lights and get sucked out...well it got some of em...but I've still got quite a few in there...now picture me chasing bugs around the booth with the shopvac... still didnt get em all...I think they're multiplying...
So I'm gonna hold off on painting...or just paint bugs and all...
Bug bomb maybe?......scared of fisheyes though

Re: Columbus..the 1957 IH 4x4..

Well...the bugs are gone..I guess they all went to walmart to look for toilet paper...or I gotem all sucked out..either way I didnt have to deal withem..
So I got the 2 acre hood, both front fenders and the radiator support done...
I turned the gun pressure up to 30-1/2psi...it seemed like it sprayed a little better than the 29psi..
Cab and doors next and I should be done with the paint...that is if I dont screw something else up..
Gonna be difficult handling fresh painted parts and not damage them...I was thinking of wrapping stuff up in moving blankets after it dries good..

That's good progress. I read about the bug issue yesterday. Maybe you hurt their feelings with all the screaming and they left. I was gonna say at least you got enough done to make a cool Avatar.
