Definitely. There have been a few LS swaps on here, but this is the first one that's exactly what I've been thinking about. Is the 5.3 all stock inside? And did the computer have to be reprogrammed to run the 4L60E? Are you running A/C?

Oh, and Devlin, your project looks killer...

The engine is all stock inside and you would have to find somewhere to get the correct computer for the transmission and everything. I purchased my engine as a package that came with the wiring harness and the computer and everything so that made it easy. I didn't want to run A/C just because its a lot more expensive and i originally didn't have A/C anyways. For the shifter i didn't want to put in a column shifter so i got a floor shifter from lokar and also had dual exhaust with flowmasters put on. Once you get the engine in and figure out if the adapters are going to work everything else should be pretty simple.

some things to consider is you will most likely need a new radiator, a new fuel pump that puts out 60 psi. You will also need to get adapters for anything like the speedometer and the tachometer for them to work. If you are serious about trying it i would talk to the people at street and performance. Their website is www.hotrodlane.cc and they will be able to help you with a lot of your questions and they also sell engines depending on where you were looking at getting your engine from but thats a good place to start they sell both new and used ls engines

I've heard that they're the authority. Glad to get a recommendation from someone who has utilized their expertise. Is your high-pressure fuel pump in the tank?

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Here are some pics of the 94 I use to drive, and have mentioned on this section before. It is a 1994 GMC Sierra GT. When we repainted it several years back we didn't get the decals put back on. It has been lowered 2/4 with a set of Eagle 212 20" wheels. It has a Goodmark steel cowl hood. Steel rear roll pan, and billet grill. Also has the clear headlight, and signal lights. Other than those few things it's pretty much stock with almost 200,000 miles on it.

I haven't driven the truck in about 3 years. My cousins daughters have been driving, or should I say tearing it up, for the last couple of years. Needless to say here it is in it's present state. Now that the kids are done driving it, my cousin and I are talking about cleaning it back up, and repainting it. He has always wanted a 502 in it. Who knows.....

Okay, I'm hoping this worked. If so there's a shot of my '88 Chevy C-1500. If not I'll try again to post this photo and give a description of my truck.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Alright this is too-much fun! I figured out the smallest size my D50 will shoot works good — keen-o.

Anyways I've had this '88 since it was only 5-years old, and I cut it up so bad to lay that it ain't even a truck anymore. Kind of like what I did to my Harley-Davidson. I just installed LMC Truck's all-chrome grille and spoiler with chrome tow hooks. The interior is next.

The suspension is scratch-built trailing arms on the rear, and mutilated stock upper and lower control arms up front.

And oh yeah, its fully-shaved, and all the cab seams are molded, and the stake holes are shaved too.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Oops, that was pretty much the same view. I'll get out there tomorrow morning and shoot some different angles. I can't shoot from the other side, or all the junk in my front yard will be visible, and I'll end up on that Hoarders TV show.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

They are LMC Truck's Euro Style for '88-89. Yeah, I prefer that setup too over composite. I just did a story for CCT on my '79 C10 here's a link. I also used LMC's relay kit on my '88. For some reason all four aren't coming on right now or my parking lights, but here's a look at how good they work on my '88.

I Hope this helps,

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

I had been retired from drag racing for 30 years when I was bitten by the bug again in 2009 and started building a tube chassis Cavalier. Since I needed something to tow with I found this 1994 Chevy. It had been used to tow a bass boat all it's life and was high mileage, a little ragged around the edges but still basically rust free. It had obviously been driven on narrow tree lined trails and every square inch of the sides were lightly scratched. Two days worth of buffing and waxing cleared up a lot of it but it still needs a coat of paint. After that all it took was a little black paint on the lower part to hide the ugly beige/silver below the moulding and a set of 1970's rally wheels(7s and 8s) to change the appearance. I've had countless Chev/GMC trucks over the past 40+ years and this one is the best of the lot.

Here's the page from LMC's catalog with the lights to give you a good look at them:

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Hey everyone! Figured I'd post a few pics of my current rides...

My 2000 Tahoe Limited and 1999 2D 2WD. My 99 doesn't have a hood at the moment, the cowl hood is being painted right now. I'll update some pictures in a few days with it on.

My 2 door has 85,000 original miles, purchased in Feb. 2008 from a small dealership. It was completely stock when I got it. 4/6 drop with all Belltech coils, spindles, c-notch and flip. Belltech Nitro 2 shocks all the way around and 20" Irocs.

My Limited currently has 81,000 original miles. Pretty much stock besides 20" wheels and window tint.

Slick Tahoes. The Limited is begging for a drop. Nice tint jobs, too. Love the tinted windshields.
