A few photos of my 03 Silverado parked outside of our garage at the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park in Bowling Green. It has the Ridetech Coilover kit and 4-link on it.

Re: How about some pics of 99-06
I like how you made improvements to your truck, and then keeping the "OEM" style ( wheels, etc)......
Hey, you note at the bottom of your post about service manuals.... I would love a service manual for my, "new to me" 2005 Yukon XL SLT......

Re: How about some pics of 99-06
I like the OEM Plus modification philosophy. Basically you make your vehicle yours with OEM factory or dealer installed optional equipment installed as the OEM, in this case GM, would've done it. When it's done nothing screams "I'm aftermarket" except possibly the stereo and CB.
Line-X was a must have for a clean bed like that. The NERF/Step bars make cab and bed access easier for the girlfriend that isn't 6'6". Both are dealership options. Those are definitely GM wheels. They're even year correct... 17x7 RPO N89 on the 2005 Silverado rather than the 16x6.5 PY0 wheels it came with from GM. The offset on the Hummer wheels made her look funny... aftermarket wheels don't have the understated clean look of OEM.. they're all about "look at me". I just want someone to look at her and say that's a nice clean truck that looks new despite being 14 years old. The new front leather seat covers and the little modifications like footwell lighting using GM brackets that were already there and GM wiring from an 01 Sierra in a local salvage yard are indistinguishable from factory installs. 1967-2000 only... GMT800 manuals are not even on my radar. I may eventually scan the 2005 Unit Repair books but I'm not ever doing the service manuals and the TURM will not happen anytime soon. The T800 chassis isn't the same as the older trucks... fullsize SUV Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon service manuals are different from the Silverado Sierra light truck manuals. I believe there are only three volumes of SUV service manual plus the transmission unit repair books. Bite the bullet and buy em from Helm, if they have them in stock, or pay attention on evilbay... Just make sure you aren't paying more than you would for brand new from Helm for a used partial set... This set is under $500 and it's not beat to death... https://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-Chevy-...oAAOSwik9bddyJ The Manual Mafia had listings for over $800 on evilbay for well loved dogeared stacks of 2005 Silverado Sierra service manuals that were missing at least one or two volumes and even some covers. Helm doesn't sell single volumes of a multi-volume set. I have a set of manuals for the Silverado/Sierra from Helm. They are still in print but they are not cheap. Mine ran somewhere just under $600 for all eleven volumes brand new from Helm... two volume Transmission Unit Repair manuals and nine volume service manual set. At $100-$150/hour dealership shop rate the manuals will pay for themselves.

Re: How about some pics of 99-06
My old 1988 GMC C2500 was shipped to Germany after buying my 2005 Yukon XL SLT, about 6 months ago..... along with it was my ( perfect condition) ..complete set of 3 books,... OEM service manuals.
I heard, in Germany, they convert gas engines to natural gas. Bye bye....

Installed 'K2 Motor' tail lights today.... A cleaner look ( and a clear back up lens for a brighter light)
They seem good..... not bad for about $62 bucks. (((((( website won't allow me to attach photos )))))) I'll have to wait.....

2007 Classic 35,000 original miles. I bought it back in April and the only upgrade so far is the newer rims.

Picked this up to replace my 2002 Siliverado WT. 2006 GMC. Basically the same as the old one, just 4 years newer and way less than 225K. Hopefully I'll have it 11 yeasr or more too.

I have been trying to find one of those around here for a long time. There is one near me right now, but he is asking stupid money for it.

Here's the addition to my ever changing line of trucks, 2002 GMC 2500 6.0L in front of my old mangy cummins powered goat. I should have better pictures at some point once i get the new wheels/tires on and put the GMC center caps back on, but for now here she is covered in a little snow.

Re: How about some pics of 99-06
Got my goat rims and tires on, i desperately need wheel spacers, these tires are an inch wider than previous with the same backspacing and they rub the upper control arms bad at full crank. But i have safe tires so thats all that matters currently

Re: How about some pics of 99-06
ikfld, Nice truck.
What size tires? In photo, they don't look THAT wide ( Or is it the height causing it rubbing?)

The ones on it now (Goodyear Duratracs) are 285/70R17 (which is also my fault for saying they are an inch wider, i thought the old ones were 275) In theory they shouldnt rub since the width is the same but they do, also notably the sidewalls on the duratracs stick out wider than the A/T's, even with a higher pressure, but also the sidewalls on the A/T's as they are described on the sidewall are a 3 ply sidewall whereas the duratracs are only 2 ply, which in turn would make them sag out a little more (In my opinion anyway) But even at the back by the leaf springs, i can barely fit my hand between the tire and leaf springs and i have skinny hands |
